Kamila Valieva: Anti-doping Case and Follow-ups

One of them was L-Carnitine which is in my energy drink that I have every morning. It's not a heart medication. I mean, really? The western news media is out of control.
I said promotes endurance. One helps with lactic acidosis buildup and shortness of breath.

I would like to stuff a rag in Weir and Lipinski's mouth. Like they had no controversies when
they were skating. Tara won her Olympic Gold at 15 and many thought she should not have been their
either. Going to be funny watching them get themselves all twisted in a knot if Kamila wins gold, which
I fully expect her too. No one else come close to her. Except Anna.
Who thought she shouldn’t have been there?

Valieva trained for many years for that moment. I can't even imagine how hard it was for her to become undoubtly the best in the Russian ladies field.
And you want her to give up on the dream just to appease the hateful mob.
Especially if she knows she didn't dope.
That's pure lunacy.
What on earth are you talking about? What hateful mob? Kamila and her coaches put her in this position by giving her drugs that are banned for athletes. No mob forced her to take banned substances. She and her team broke the rules, plain and simple. The rules exist for all athletes, not just her. The grandfather story is ridiculous and not in any way based on science or medicine. This is pure Russian gas lighting. While I feel sorry for Kami as I don't believe she was aware of what her coaches were doing to her, it is not fair that she competes with clean athletes who didn't break the rules. There needs to be consequences that matter for those that break the rules other than competing without your country's flag before this is ever going to stop.

BUT... she is clean now so what difference does it make NOW ??

It doesn’t matter that she’s not doping now. Point is- she shouldn’t have been allowed to compete at all. Had she not been a minor- I don’t think she’d have skated last night. That seemed to be the loophole.
I still don't get this "she is a minor" argument by Cas... Just because a person is minor it does not mean he/she cannot be punished. Hence the existence of juvenile courts...

Kamila is really lovely to watch though. Whatever “it” is, she has it. Such a shame. The other 2 Russian girls are obviously very talented, but KV really has something special imo.

I thought it was interesting listening to Tara and Johnny’s commentary last night: they were pretty muted and businesslike about the other 2 Russian girls too. I sure didn’t get any enthusiasm in their tone. Practically monotone.

It should matter. She has no drug advantage over anyone, so the field is leveled. Deal with her past crimes later, they don't affect her skating NOW!

Ummm? Are you serious? That's not how the system works. One positive test for a banned substance, means a athlete is immediate suspended. Additionally, this type of doping wouldn't necessarily be extremely helpful in competing. It is helpful in allowing an athlete to train more and recover better which means they have more time to master difficult elements. The advantage provided would be long-term.

“There can be completely different ways how it [trimetazidine] got [into Valieva’s body], said lawyer Kozmenko -For example..."

It was just a hypothetical presented by the lawyer.
Don’t hire that lawyer. If she accidentally ingested it from a party the night before, it would have been out of her system before the competition.

Sabotage is a much better argument.

Bad news for Eteri coaches team, they cannot travel to US and all other countries which have extradition treaties with United States.

Canada, Japan, South Korea...and more

Good news for Eteri coaches team, they can still travel to China and North Korea.
Wait, what? The United State FBI can put Eteri in jail for 9 years and make her pay a million dollar fine?

Have we all been transported to Bizarro Earth?

I can only suggest people from North America to watch more B ESP or any other European coverage, it is much more realistic and truthful to the situation. Now i realize that problem with North Americans is not that 'clean sport' narrative they are pushing, it is sadly and only about the medals (dumb me :dbana:). Because if Kamila were suspended, USA would get gold and Canada bronze... so let's just be real about what is behind all those media news. Unlike North America's media, there is no conflict of interest in Europe, so people can keep common sense there # sorry, not sorry
I don’t care if the US gets a Team gold. In fact, I have a bit of a problem with some of the team members getting a gold medal when Michelle Kwan doesn’t have one. This is not that big a story in the US, believe it or not. And the medal issue really doesn’t come up that much.
