The IOC president made a statement about Eteri's behavior..... Wasn't the doping issue enough now we have an abusive coaching team to top it off.
Whatever - leave the legacy of him as a "fighter with child abuse". Being at the top of an international organization one has to be careful with words unless they are on a mission.I believe he is not allowed to get another term?
Human being is not a profession. When one is an important official one has to measure up one's emotions vs. the impact that the outbusts of their emotions might have.Let us not be too cynical. Thomas Bach might also simply be a human being
It is irrelevant how long it stays in the body - it should not have been in the body of Kamila at all.so, trimetadizin stays in the body for days and looks like a dubious thing to use detection wise in the first place.
Actually I was raised by my grandparents and my grandfather had very serious cardiac arrhythmia. There was no way I could get anywhere near his pills. That was just out of question. So accidental intake by Kamila is still at least child negligence by her guardians. Then accidental intake becomes very feasible.
It's not over, folks, no matter how many times you repeat: "she was caught!"
Which of the figure skating greats kept quiet, honorably so imo, about this sorry saga?
And that lesson was...? I hope you don't mean you must report your loved ones because WADA says so? In this case anti doping rules should be revised as they compromise the most essential values of humanity. Or maybe they have been already?Kostner wasn't one in her mid 20's when her boyfriend made her lie for him, but I'm sure she learned her lesson.

So in the States you are forced to testify against your family? And face sanctions if you don't?The lesson that in every legal scheme I know, an accomplice to an illegal action is also guilty. And someone covering up an illegal action is also guilty.
I would argue that one of the most essential values of humanity is 'athletes integrity is more important than any person'.And the lesson is that no one person, and certainly no medal, no fame, no fortune, is worth your integrity as an athlete.
That is the one of the most essential values of humanity.![]()
I blame the boyfriend. He took performance-enhancing drugs, lied about it, then made Carolina lie, too, jeopardizing her own career, reputation and livelihood.

By Swedish law, which I assume is in line with the EU regulations on that matter, you cannot be forced to testify against those you have a close relationship to. And this is motivated by the deeply rooted moral and societal values of family ties being more or less sacred.
There is a difference between a lie and 'no comments'. Can you just do not answer the question (without any legal consequences) if f.e. your mother is being prosecuted? In US you are only protected from testifying against your spouse, outside of that if you lie to the police you can face an obstruction of justice or potentially accessory after the fact

I don't care either and I don't think the US team members would necessarily think they were deserving or had earned a gold medal in the team event. As for Michelle Kwan, I think she got over not having an OGM a long time ago. It's just the fans (me, I will admit) that can't get over it LOL!I don’t care if the US gets a Team gold. In fact, I have a bit of a problem with some of the team members getting a gold medal when Michelle Kwan doesn’t have one. This is not that big a story in the US, believe it or not. And the medal issue really doesn’t come up that much.

Ok then the regulation you have is more restrictive (and conservative) than what we have. Here the existence of a close relationship is sufficient for a testimonial privilege. And this applies to all criminal offences including rape, murder etc which in my view are much more severe than doping offences. In US you are only protected from testifying against your spouse, outside of that if you lie to the police you can face an obstruction of justice or potentially accessory after the fact
