2022 Worlds Pre-Game Chat

Brendan is, fortunately, back here in Australia :) he just hosted a skating clinic with his mother down in Adelaide.

I was wondering about James Min and the Dodds brothers in terms of minimums for Worlds. I'm kinda too lazy to look them up but I probably should to figure out the answer!
At 4CC, James Min and Jordan Dodds got nowhere near the Worlds TES minimums for SP (34.00) and FS (64.00). SP: Min 26.89, 47.59; Dodds 21.76, 39.76.

I cannot believe Nathan is planning on going to worlds. Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic to see him and hope that he ends his career with a bunch more titles and another olympic gold. But between doing all these talk shows, going to universal studios, and doing family feud, I've just gotta ask...when will he find the time to prepare?!

He is someone who just seems to be able to do it all. He is so far ahead of everyone technically, I’m sure he will be prepared. Why not add another World title to your belt?

She is young, but I would not be surprised if she retires. She seems to be struggling since she has grown and I'm not really seeing a Gold Medalist at this point.
She isn't going to retire. She has a lot of potential. If she ever recovers that triple axel, she will be a podium threat. There are a lot of factors that make it hard to predict the future of ladies skating-- possibly raising the age limit, the Russians, more scrutiny of drug use. But I think Alysa will be around until the next Olympics, at least.

The Family Feud taping would have been just been one day. Or half-day. And I assume it is in Los Angeles, where he trains. He has been done with the media rounds for over a week now. There is plenty of time for him to get ready.

We also need to remember that all the Olympic Skaters were training intensely leading up to the Olympics and I think they'll be ready to go for Worlds after a couple of days training.

My info is that she only doing the 3A on the pole harness and does not seem to be into really training!!!!!

Well she's competed so much this year having to do Senior B's. I imagine she's tired from all the travel and press appearances she's been doing. She could still be feeling the effects of her Covid when it comes to Fatigue.

He is so far ahead because he does train hard. It would be a disappointing way to end the season if he shows up and is beaten by the Japanese team, who gave him a decent run for his money at the Olympics, and will be hungrier for a win.

I think he’d be fine with losing. Nathan seems to be unbothered for the most part. I think he just wanted to win the Olympics and now that he has won, all this is just extra.

I agree. Personally, I think the only reason he's going is to make sure we keep all 3 spots.
I think he's going because the official mascot is an otter, his favorite animal. 😛

I think I can finally say that I am actually attending Worlds and am looking forward to seeing other fans there! I heard something about a practice rink on another forum that's free to enter? Do any of you know if it's close to the main rink? Or is that another question for another time?

Unpopular opinion maybe but Green and Parsons should be sent to Worlds this year. They have waited in the wings for four years and keep proving themselves. Wish USFS would give them a chance.

Maybe not an unpopular opinion, but they haven't waited four years, at least not together. 2018-19 was their first competitive season together. Of course, both had skated before with siblings.

I'm very excited about their prospects, and their time will come, sooner rather than later.
