Anna Shcherbakova

Thank you, @brakes!

In 10/11 and 11/12 seasons she was doing only one program, in 12/13 season she was doing two: "Pink Panther" and "Addams Family".

Ah, got it. So for 10/11 and 11/12, "Pink Panther" was her one and only program, and then in 12/13 she used "Pink Panther" as her SP and "Addams Family" as her FS?

I don't know what the program was, but I'm sure video of it exists somewhere... :sneaky:
I think that covers all the programs as I recall Anna's picture in red suit with her family being made on day of her first ever competition.

Thanks! Do you know the date of that photo? If anyone else has seen video of this program or at least knows what it is, please let us know. 😊

Anna was not competing in the 13/14 season as she was focusing on improving jumps (getting triples). She was sent away from Tutberidze's group to get those and there is some uncertainty about where and by whom was she trained in that period - I've personally read names of three coaches claiming working with her at the time (DG being one of them).

Ah, that makes sense. I knew she was sent away at one point, but I didn't realize she missed a season of competing as a result.

So basically she joined Team Tut from Team Bulycheva after the 12/13 season, before Daniil was even at Team Tut, but she was soon after sent away to work on her triples, so wound up not competing during the 13/14 season. (BTW, who are the two coaches besides Daniil who have claimed credit for working with her during this time?) And then she returned to Team Tut in advance of the 14/15 season, at which point Daniil was involved in Team Tut. Is that all right?

Btw., Anna came to Tutberidze's group before Gleikhengauz and first program Daniil choreographed for her was "Sikuriadas".

If Daniil's first program for her was "Sikuriadas," do we have any idea who choreographed her "Tango" and "Sheherezade" programs? Eteri?

Nice catch, I don't know the answer, but they'd probably been searching for best oriental theme for her.

That makes sense. Does anyone even recognize the music...https://youtu.be/TZpHfoZO9Zs? It seems like maybe the choreography was a bit different, too, than what they wound up using when the program became "Sheherezade"?

Today a short conversation with Anna Shcherbakova was shown on the morning show on Channel One:

Summary of the conversation:

"
- You had your first captaincy experience (at the First Channel Cup). Tell us how it all happened, were you worried?

- Yes, I was worried, because this time this role is unusual, since the captains took part in the competition. The responsibility lay directly with the captains, so as not to let their team down. Of course, the victory depended on each participant.

I had to make some decisions. Of course, all are already adult professional skaters, I did not command anyone. But there were some organizational issues. In general, the main thing for me was not to let the team down in performances. I was still finishing my performances - a bit of a responsible mission.

- Tell us about the atmosphere, because it is completely different at the Olympics and the First Channel Cup. Where was it more difficult to perform, where was it easier, and why?

It's hard to compare them, of course. The Olympics is, of course, the most important start in a career. But, surprisingly, I was even less nervous there. I attribute this to the fact that we arrived very early in the Olympic village, we have been training there for two weeks. At the time of the competition, it was hard to believe that we were already competing. It was hard to believe that this is the Olympic Games.

And at the First Channel Cup there was a more festive atmosphere, because finally full stands, spectators - this was so lacking at international competitions. We are all energized, one might say.

– What are your emotions when you stand on a pedestal and they put on a medal for you?

- Joy, pride.

- In a nutshell, about your plans - a lot has been done, what are your dreams?

- I continue to skate, I still have the same goals. I want to train, perform, show my maximum at every competition, because it energizes me.
Now we will have performances in the show. You can see me in Minsk, Moscow, Krasnoyarsk, Tashkent, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod

"

In addition, Anna was asked if she often walks with an Olympic medal around her neck and she replied that she only takes the medal with her for filming on television.

Yes, I hope we won't lose Anya in competitions!
Whatever competitions Anya has next season I expect her to be in top form whether that's internationally and domestically or just domestically. Her form from age 14 to age 17 was remarkably consistent at the highest level. What will Anna give us from ages 18 to 21? That remains to be seen but I expect a very high level as usual.

Also great credit to Anna's family and team for helping her these last few years and for keeping her healthy which enabled her to get all her golden goals done. :)
