Here's some good news!
From the Minneapolis Star Tribune:
The close battle in the women's competition fueled a significant jump in TV ratings. NBC's prime-time telecast of Saturday night's free skate drew a 3.8 overnight rating, a 65 percent increase over the 2.3 rating earned by ABC's telecast of the women's free skate last year. The Saturday afternoon telecast of the pairs free skate earned a 2.0 overnight rating; last year's ESPN coverage, which aired at 10:30 p.m., drew a 0.49 rating. Minneapolis/St. Paul registered a 6.6 rating, the highest of 55 metered markets.
