Andrei Mozalev

He is the Soulful One. He seems to have matured in the last year, so def will be interesting to see if he bridges the gap he had between what he feels about the music and projecting it on ice.
I remember his 2018 SP to The World We Knew sung by Frank Sinatra. I was struck at the time by the unprecedented "maturity" of the image. It made me want to say, hey kid, you're fifteen years old, you probably haven't even been on a date, why are you on ice turning into a thirty-seven year old dude with longing in his eyes? "My darling, we fell in love back in high school, we were married for twenty years, I thought everything was fine, at which point it all went wrong and what happens to us after we get divorced"? How do you even know how it could be, you're still too young for that kind of experience?

That's when I first thought that this skater should be looked at, he has a special talent for transformation. And he didn't disappoint me, he continued to develop this ability. Both the coach and the choreographers try to use this ability, although I would probably like to see something really funny from Mozalev. In everyday life, he is a very cheerful young man with a special talent for making everyone laugh with a serious face.
I think he could be a direct heir to Bobrin and his pantomimes.

Yeah, by the way, my favorite version of the thirty-seven-year-old dude. Here Andrei was not very restrained by the need to take care of his jumps, he was not restrained and showed his acting talent.

The image of the reflective middle-aged man is given a special zest by the advertisement for a children's toy store in the background. With a cheerful yellow Hippo ☺️

I think my favorites so far in terms of expression for him were his Tenn’s memorial where he skated Heart’s Cry as exhibition and European’s exhibition when you could see he could skate I won’t forget you if they woke him at midnight and dumped him on ice in PJs and barefoot.

Maybe he can do an upbeat exhibition this year? New exhibition is long overdue… no offence to Averbukh, but I didn’t like the Ferris Wheel all that much. Though it also was on the phone cameras, so it’s not as impactful as a solid camera work.

I think a domestic season might actually help his artistic expression as he always seem to skate better in the familiar arenas. Just sad I would likely never see him skate live.

Life is not as short as is commonly thought, and Andrei is aiming for a long career (and then, I hope, opening his own show with better programs). There's no need to despair in advance :ghug:

Heh, I should have went to Tallinn is totally a saying. 😂 there is never been a longer list to pray for…

Well, as long as there is no information about new programs or new jumps (I don't expect anything of the kind before September), we will be happy with what we have - videos of physical training.

In this video Andrei competes with the young titans of the Davidenko group, the Shelkovnikov brothers. All have the character of a champion and no one wants to give in.

The speed and lightness of teenagers against the athletic physique and powerful musculature of Andrei. I once watched a video on National Geographic of a tiger chasing a roe deer, a very similar sight.

The athletic tiger won, by the way.

Aww. Mozalev is so competitive heh. Also, I low-key wonder if the new GEO young athlete still with Davydenko? I was hoping to see him at JWC.

There were two Georgian guys in Davydenko's group. Are you talking about Konstantin Supatashvili, who went to the JWC? There is no exact information yet, but lately there is a tendency for Georgian athletes to stop cooperating with Russian coaches. So far there is no exact information. Irakli Maisuradze, I think, left the group, there is no information about him since last fall.

Andrei and Alexander Galliamov last night at a concert venue on Vasilievsky Island.

They went to a concert by a popular young rap group.

- Come on, Q&A on camera, no prep.
- What part of your body gets the most tired during a workout?

- None?

- All my body parts.

It’s not a hint about music selection?

Oh, no, no, no, no, no, I don't think so 😅
Well, not unless it's a exhibition number, but I doubt it

I think it was a standard teenage pastime (and I'm really glad that Andrei has the time and opportunity to be an unremarkable teenager).

Andrei has been active on bilibili for the past month. Today he congratulated the Chinese subscribers of his channel with Tanabata. It`s very nice that he pays attention to the cultural specifics of his audience.

Since Tanabata is a holiday of lovers, he is asked about Lisa N. 👸 in the comments
Fans hope that he will say something about the current status of their relationship. It's a futile hopes

Andrei`s interview after winning the JWC. Re-posted to a new sports channel a few days ago.

It's very interesting to remember and analyze how the kid has changed in two senior seasons.

This is probably the channel that will show Russian GP later in the season? Fingers crossed. Easy access would be good.
