I love Yannick and I've heard and read before that he trains very well and has great practices, but then folds under pressure due to nerves in competition. I wonder if he and his team have looked into having him see a sports psychologist. So many of his difficulties seem to be centered on the mental aspect of the sport. I hope he continues skating past Vancouver, although this article made mention that skating would become secondary post 2010 so that he can focus on physiotherapy. I wish Yannick the best in everything he endeavors.
This guy has so much going for him and he even threatened Brian at Skate Canada, in Quebec, after the SP.. But he does have those demon nerves when the chips are down. Hopefully he works well with a sports shrink. He could emerge as a top 5 skater in the future.
