Kamila Valieva

Nobody should look up to Liza and use her as role model. All she have is one good season, after which she miss ALL opportunities which were freely available for her.
Look up to Liza for longevity. Liza won worlds when she was 17 and now she's pushing 26 and still has her triple axle and desire to skate competitively. Liza just won a Russian GP beating huge talent and got a huge score. We need Kamila to see the big picture. She is the most spectacular ladies figure skater many of us have ever seen. We need Kamila to continue to be that for many years not just pack it in as a teen Queen like so many do. Alysa Liu just retired at 16. this sport eats its young. Kami needs help from the adults in her life. I doubt she gets any. Certainly nobody and no group or governing body protected minor Kami at all.

The good news is she's getting her ultra jumps back.

I think Kamila is smart and not brainwashed. I think Kamila is using Eteri and Gleik as much as vice versa right now she knows they are her best chance of succeeding at this point. There were a few things during the test skates where it just felt a little forced and unnatural between the three of them. The unspeakable is far from resolved and will drag out I don't think Kamila will ever face any blame but Eteri on the other hand. Eteri losing Kamila right now would be devastating to morale, Eteri needs her. Kamila doesn't have that self sabotage streak of Kostornaia and will stay with Eteri for now because it's the best chance of success.

And you have to say it's working. She's restoring her jumps and programs are great.

Her talent is so great! Sadly Kamila is taking the blame. No one else is. You may be right that things are not resolved for a long time. If things drag out for a long time then that will change her career for the worse. She needs resolution in the next 6 months. But anyway you are right short term she will have success with TT. But Kami is so gifted she could have success anywhere. I don't know how she has kept her focus and can do these incredible programs that are so difficult. She really must have great focus.

This time next week may be total and complete vindication for Kamila.

In my eyes her GP series and jumping tournament performances are total vindication, but a win next week will end any kind of silly debate people want to get involved in forever. In reality any colour medal does it given she's up against Akateva and Petrosyan who are the equals of Shcherbakova, Trusova, peak Kostornaia in my eyes.

I try not to overanalyze and keep it simple: Kamila is the reigning and defending champion, and will be so until all the scores are summed up and someone manages to get more points than her.

Until then, she is rightfully the favorite this weekend.

I think you can say KV was good at Nationals although not at last year's level. But she was very good and she scored almost 250 points and won the silver medal only a couple points behind SA.

I think once Kami is through puberty and we get clarification on her future she can really take off again. But she needs to be patient very patient and see the big picture a couple years down the road and how great she can still be at 18 or 19.
