* "On Nov. 17, the board approved a motion via e-ballot to allow the top two finishers in novice at the 2023 U.S. Pairs Final to compete in the junior pairs event at the 2023 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships as a one-year exception to rule 2502. If either of those teams chooses not to participate, no additional teams will be invited."

What on earth decimated the Junior Pairs? Especially the ones who were an exception to rule 2502? I’d think that would be a golden opportunity.

Honestly I can't imagine letting a young girl go into Pairs after all the stories lately and of course the injury risk. SO I am surprised we have this many juniors (which I won't watch as it's entirely too terrifying to see some of those lifts!)

A heads up that Peacock is saying their stream will start at 3p.m. Eastern instead of the time listed here (2:40 p.m. Eastern); i don’t know which is correct.

ETA: A Peacock graphic in the Practice stream now says 2:40 Eastern for jr pairs, so tune in then.

But they are skating pairs (with the exception of Smith/Deng who split). I mean…

Introducing the officials. The referee and one of the judges got wild applause

Just noticed the Jumbotron is huge. Bigger than any I’ve seen. And no Rusty! 😀

I have an eight-track player from 1967 that has better sound quality than the Peacock feed, but I'm thankful to be able to watch and enjoy this event. The first team performed admirably.

This team got the memo--an undone bedazzled bowtie and a leisurely cover of "Mambo Italiano" takes me straight to heaven every time!

Timmy and Ellie got 2 rabbits with an assist from Todd. I can’t throw hard enough to defeat this empty space. It may be a problem.
