The team I am looking forward to the most is Baylen and her new partner, Nikolai. Baylen was such a charmer in Novice pairs, and this is her first Junior Nationals.

I like Sofia and Luke and Reagan and Jakub.
Ben is on the judges side. You have to have a credential to be on that whole side of the rink. 🙄

@moonvine Gracie Gold is commentating Jr Pairs SP with Ben Agosto. She opened by saying when she found single skating kind of boring she came to St Louis rink to skate pairs. :)
Yes. I can see her over there but can’t get to her. I’m going to the credential checkpoint and wait for her to come out after Junior men’s.
I’m all about her skating pairs. Mark Sadusky needs a partner.

  • Nice solid skate for Kovar/McPike. Their JGP experience shows
  • Oh/Chapa also skated well - they are just beaming and projecting very well and very neat and solid, one lift got too close to the boards and was a mite bit scary,
  • Sparkling personality from Kaplan/Carter. Recovering from health issues, they do some elements in opposite directions and that is harder to do. Very nice skate also.

  • Meek/Meek are clockwise/lefty skaters. Very solid lift that covers a lot of ice. Pair elements done as leftys and single elements are mirrored. Problems on the sbs 2A
  • Kerr /Herbert try a triple twist lift - a bit sloppy but done. They have a mature quality to their basic skating. Beautiful and difficult lift with change of position. I really enjoyed them a lot - they improved so much as a former novice team. Loved the Irish sounding version of Hallelujah that they used. They move into second. Hi Amanda Evora!
  • Baich/Apter give us some Go Johnny Go! They move very fast and solidly making their elements extra big and impressive and solid. Nickolai is giving a lot of face - very nice look! They move into second.

  • Jarmoc / Witkowski have a clean double twist, very in sync 2A, and clean throw 2F. They do some spirited choreo to Uptown funk with sbs butterflies. Fun and different program confidently skated that puts them in first.
  • McDanold /Felberbaum wearing red open with another clean 2tw, a bit messy for him on 2A, Very confidently skated into the throw - a bit FW on landing and strong lift. Nice sync on the spins to Breathe. Lovely edgework and strong death spiral into third
  • Moss / Galbavy do a big triple twist lift , sbs 2A and they do throw 2F with falling leaf out of it instead of 3F. Very nice choreo and transitions to Fly me to the Moon - smooth and easy style with great smiles. She claps when they finish. Gracie likes them for first - most refined and polished. They finish as the leaders
  • Gracie & Ben make a nice combo for pairs commentary

It was somewhat of a surprise when they won last year. This year it will not be. I expect them to come in first unless there is a disaster.
My Queen is the best at everything. She could skate to center ice and file her taxes and I’d give her all the PCs.
