In this case though, there's a clear practical advantage to having a training location outside of Russia in terms of flights and other travel arrangements for international competition.

Lorenzo Magri told Sports. ru about cooperation with Maurice Kvitelashvili

"All agreements were reached only a month ago – during the stage of the junior Grand Prix in Enye. So we just started working together.

I managed to work with Maurice for only 5 days – I go to competitions with other skaters. Therefore, for now, my colleagues Angelina Turenko and Alice Mikonsaari are mainly engaged with him. Now the main task is to give his skating a shine. The programs remain the same, Maurice has excellent programs this season, my friend Daniil Gleichengauz has done a good job.

I was happy to learn about it and I can assure everyone: we will do everything possible to continue the path that we started in the Tutberidze group – one of the best in the world. Vivien Papp officially announced on Instagram that she is leaving the Hungarian federation. She hasn't said where she is transferring yet, only that at her next competition: "next to my name will be the flag of another country, who is grateful that I am coming to them" and that it is a federation "where I will be warmly welcomed and appreciated, and I will actually receive financial support."

This is outrageous and should be mainstreamed published.. regardless of it involving a top calibre Olympic star or hopeful junior. Completely unacceptable

Easy OP edit, that: '... and back again'. No, seriously, I think he did well, as far as his mental state and scores are concerned. He seemed really distressed in competitions this season, and I am guessing it has something to do with Georgia not wanting their skaters to train in Russia. I don't recall if that was just a rumor or if it was confirmed, but if so, it's understandable that Morisi was shaken. He has collaborated with Eteri for years, has lived in Moscow for years IIRC, so training abroad at his age must have been distressing for him, not to mention ineffective. I am no fan of his, but it was kind of painful to see him in this helpless state. Let's see if he has his confidence back by WC.

The Georgian Fed is generally fine with their skaters training in Russia. Both Nika Egadze and Gubanova have trained there this whole time without any issues.

Thats not really true, as the junior skaters, Nika Edgaze (team tut also) and Nastya train in Russia. There is actually a very clear common reason as why the the 2 pairs teams and Morisi were suddenly moved away but im not sure if if its correct to discus it here. Lets put it this way Edgaze is an adult but is not a Russian citizen so he could stay but the other 3 adult men are Russian citizens who are subjected to the same laws that any other citizen are and leave it at that.

Morisi also got injured in Italy and it seems serious im not sure if its realistic that he will do better by worlds, maybe by next season if he continues. But I do agree that he was distressed by how he was skating competing and honestly there was already some improvements in the Europeans vs gp stages, he at least is rotating his jumps and no longer popping. He has been in team tut since he was a novice, leaving at his age and starting new might have been too much for him.

Yeah but he is very injured rn, also both Morisi and the head of the fed said for now he is going back but they dont know what will happen in the future due to current times. He has been back since December as he had to go to doctors to deal with his injury. Likely if they think that there's actual danger, he will leave again. He's also turning 28 soon and now has developed a serious injury, so who knows what's his plans really are for the future. During the summer he graduated from uni, so he could go coaching in the new rink that just opened in Tbilisi.

I hope it IS true. Even if the ban ends, she doesn't stand much chance in Russia as the new juniors move into Seniors. THIS should have been her big year, it's a shame.

As people said on FSU, it's really hard to get Italian citizenship. I think it's there's only been preliminary exploritary talks or it's just fake news.

Personally, I worry about a milder version of what happened to Beverly Zhu if she didn't perform well at the Olympics. I'd worry about that less with someone who had a less jump focus to their programs.

Fun fact, I'm pretty sure(not 100%) that one of Eteri's sisters is married to an Italian and likely has Italian citizenship.

I think there are some coaches of Russian origin in Italy, but I have a hard time believing that this is where Maia would want to switch. Especially after Italy didn't work out for Maria Talalaikina who had to return back to Russia. Italy also has some good female skaters, though inconsistent, like Gutmann, or this season's JGP participant with the huge jumps, whose name eludes me at the moment.
