2023-24 Russian Grand Prix - Stage 4 - Kazan

I dunno poor Moris gets/got hammered for his jump technique. (Maybe not by the judges, but the commentators and viewers, yikes).
I don't think coaches can be blamed for the technique that skaters were taught in early age by their first coaches. These things usually just can't be fixed.

Maybe because those Georgian men don't have to compete in Russia. Not the same pressure.
I don't think she ever had success with Russian men on senior level. Junior yes (Erokhov won JWC with her i think) but not senior.
Ptkeev before his career ending injury was pretty successful for the men standard and Serezha Voronov briefly trained with her but he can't be considered one of her skaters

Daniil commands respect for trying to make a comeback. It's not easy. Of all the guys who shone on JGP 2019-2020 season, only Mozalev is doing more or less well. Samsonov and Kutovoi, who were bright stars, were lost due to growth, illnesses, injuries.

What's more, Samsonov and Kutovoi have technique issues. Samsonov has never landed a quad. Kutovoi doesn't fully rotate his 3A. They have the non-jumping elements and PCS, but not the difficulty.

I even wonder if the coaches are necessarily at fault. I think body type and natural talent also play. Mishin (who is known for teaching good technique) has/had skaters with correct technique and others with flutzes and excessive pre-rotation.

Did Kutovoi compete this season? I didn't see him.

Peeking in while staying up way too late. ;) Please help a late comer... are these junior men from what I can tell of their elements and youthful appearance?

Although three spins all at the end is kinda weird right?

But awww he's smiling!! I haven't seen a happy Kirill after his FS for aaaaages. 🥰

Mishin doesn't teach kids. Especially now. They usually come from other Star Ice coaches.

The sad thing is that Kutovoi has lost his magic charm along with his age, he's still good at presentation, but it's not so good anymore... Something similar is happening with Daniil, although he still holds the level in presentation.
