I’m still waiting for them to send out Fee Ann and Audreanne Foster… and still don’t understand why Matthew Neuman (5th at Nationals) is sent out, while Fee Ann (also, 5th at Nationals, but won the Challenger event) is at home. Is it cause she already competed at a Junior event? Does she have to wait an entire year, just to go to one international event? Sigh… 😔
I'm still manifesting Coupe du Printemps for them  Entries were due on the 15th, so hopefully they'll be published soon.

Also Hetty and Uliana for junior women too, to give them something more than being alternates for Junior Worlds. If they want to skaters to skate better at Nationals, then maybe have something more than the possibility of a Challenger/JGP in the next season.

has anyone seen or heard anything about stephen? it feels like its been radio silence since the nationals withdrawal

By the way, the usual Russian suspects (*cough*Tarasova*cough*) are in complete shambles again about a proposal by the Canadian Federation to simplify the transition of skaters between countries (no right to refuse, one season (instead of one year) after the last competition for the former country), accusing the Canadian fed of trying to steal their skaters because they can't produce their own, as if Canada hadn't "lost" a lot of skaters to other countries as well :laugh2::palmf:

and as if Russians would flock to Canada when they can just keep training in Moscow and represent neighbouring countries, which they are already doing... so meh. My take on this is that when they are afraid of something that is actually a good proposal, they speak very loudly... reminds me of the age rule changes

From what was said at nationals, it would be a back injury, so severe that even doubles were an issue. So I would assume that we won't hear anything for a while. I would think that he would be resting his back and doing physio for a while before getting to jump again.

It really is too bad that at least 1 or better yet 2 women were not sent to Challenge Cup. Would have been nice to see Sara Maud sent out again after her great free skate at 4CC. I really believe that if Sara Maud had more experience and was better known her score would have been in the 120s at 4CC. She received some low GOEs for what she did. And if they were sent without any expectations besides simple getting experience skating in a big event with the world champ and euro bronze medalist it could do nothing but help them down the road. And if they sent 2 entries there might be a little challenge between the two to be the better CAN lady!

All this talk about sending our girls out to more international events because Schizas could potentially get into the top 10 this year at Worlds...how likely is that anyways???

I think her SB is 13th out of the skaters we know are competing at Worlds, 5-ish points out of the top 10. There are a few skaters ahead of her that have struggled to repeat their SB recently due to injury or other issues, and apart from Amber not a lot of other skaters who are hot on her heels score-wise.

It's certainly a possibility, but nowhere close to a guarantee.

It isn't about a potential second spot for me. If Maddie earns one, then good since that's her goal. If she doesn't, that's fine too.

But if there isn't anyone who can be an alternate for her, then that's an issue. If the only GP spots that they can earn are host spots, that's another issue. If Nationals don't matter in 4CC assignments since there aren't many skaters who have the minimums when there are guaranteed spots every year...

There isn't going to be depth in singles if they're not competing internationally. Competing domestically can only go so far.

Both Justine and Sara Maude were planning on doing a 3/3 combo in the short at 4cc but neither were able to. If they had more chances then they may get it done. And once they do it in competition it will only get easier to repeat. But only having the one shot to try it is not fair. Just too much pressure.

Does anyone know why Coach and Program Director for Calata Figure Skating Club, Tyler Myles, has been expelled from Skate Canada? He has been added to the list when it was updated by SC.

Or maybe I missed this from before but I am pretty sure this is recent.

It must be recent since he was being listed as a coach on the club's Instagram for Nationals last month. I couldn't see any news stories. Given that it's probably under OSIC, I don't know how much information will become public.

If it's a permanent expulsion, doesn't it mean the investigation is completed? Bc the list also includes interim suspended coaches that are pending investigation.

I would think it means that the investigation is completed. But if someone is under investigation, they may not be necessarily suspended while the investigation is in process.

The issue is that OSIC's registry where the information would be available isn't available to the public. According to the registry page, the objective is that it'll be publicly available by or before March 2024.

If Brooke wishes to continue, what options does she have - is Thierry Ferland a possible good match? I think Zach Daleman isn't tall enough, correct?

Just watched Lia Cho (Novice women short) and she scored 54.4 which is pretty good. I checked her score sheets and they said her 3T on her combo got a q and i slowed it down and it was 100%fully rotated so i thought that was unfair. Anyway, cant wait to watch her tomorrow in the free program.

It's actually the other way around, Thierry is much shorter than Zach, 11 cm in fact. Zach is still quite a lot shorter than Ben (10 cm), but if Brooke is actually 164 cm, they'd still have a 19 cm difference which isn't too bad for pairs.

Well, that is if Zach is even still interested in competitive skating... Otherwise, there are slim picking. There's Samiir Andjorin (CAN), but he hasn't had a partner and competed in a long time and doesn't seem to have even semi-stable triples.
Dmitry Epstein is also still looking for a partner, but he's a lot older than Brooke, and she'd probably have to relocate and change federations, which I can't see happening.
