How hard is it to get Estonian citizenship?
 
I don't think I have ever seen Canada struggle for so long. It is possile come 2030 not only are they not a team threat t the olympics ut they won't even win a medal. If Piper and Paul don't continue which is expected that leaves Gogo and Lian and Trennt - happy for them but I think we all know they are just an edge away from eing out of the top 8 Really they need to sadly give another lady a chance even if it is GAbbY mADDIE HAS HAD MAY CHANCES AND SHE TRIED UT JUST COULDN'T DO IT.

Canada is not struggling 🙄
We did really well and I’m really satisfied with the results from the past season.

Senior Worlds
Canada finished third in the medal standings behind 🇯🇵 and 🇺🇸
It was wonderful watching P&P grab a silver medal 🥈 and then Lia and Trennt finally showed what they were capable of in Pairs with a 🥉. Also, it was amazing watching GoGo shine with a fourth place finish. Canada finishing in the top four in three disciplines is amazing and deserves an applause 👏

Junior Worlds

Canada finished SECOND in the medal standings due to our wonderful Pairs teams finishing 🥇 and 🥈 behind only 🇯🇵.


This season we had Lia and Trentt really shine for Canada in Pairs and GoGo really shined. Canada stepped up here.

Moving forward:

Pairs - I’m excited to see if Lia and Trentt can continue from their Worlds performance. Also, Loucas switching up to pair up with Fiona strengthens our discipline. Also, to have our top two junior teams move up, this will be our most exciting discipline heading to the next Olympic cycle. Also, in juniors, Etienne pairing up with Kaydee is encouraging as I can see them do well in JGP circuit.

Dance - I’m kinda worried about this discipline. But, I’m also excited with the big shake ups. This discipline is wide open. But, we have three seasons to see who steps up or not. With LaLa broken up, maybe instead of one top ten team, we might have two top ten teams 😜

Men - GoGo!!! Will he add a fourth quad to his free skate? I’m just happy to have a solid top ten guy. Romsky now has a chance to go to Worlds. For Junior Men, we have Grayson as a top ten contender and William Chan is really getting his 3A together.

Women - Gabby is really excited for this upcoming season now that she is finally healthy. To see her landing 3S 3T in practice is wonderful. She really has great jumps and skating skills. If she can land her triples, I can see her have an okay season before she retires. She mentioned that our teen girls coming up are wonderful. Specifically mentioning Reese, Megan and Fee Ann for their clean high fully rotated triples. We have Minsol too for this upcoming Olympic cycle. Also, in our recent technical boot camp, I saw Reese attempting fully rotated 3A’s (despite wonky landings) and Lia was there landing some under rotated ultra c’s: 3A< and I saw her landing some quad salchows too: 4S<< though. But, she will be a star in the upcoming JGP.

This upcoming Olympic cycle is exciting and I can’t wait to see what surprises we have in store. Go Canada 🇨🇦!!

I saw this comment on my phone but had scrolled down and couldn't see who it was posted by. And yet I knew immediately it was 'SkaterBoy', because it's identical in spirit and content to the only thing you ever post: decrying, bemoaning, critiquing, and otherwise lamenting the lack of skill, results, and hope of current Canadian skaters.

We get it. Glass half empty. But I'd like to not have to keep drinking from that same half empty glass.

Honestly, I recommend you set yourself a goal: don't post anything in the Canadian forum about Canadian skaters unless you have something positive to say. I am by no means the type to put my head in the sand and ignore reality, but at the same time I try to balance pragmatic comments with positive acknowledgments. I really think you could do that too.

It might make people take you a bit more seriously.
 
I'd heard that Marko Gaidajenko was Alicia Fabbri's new partner. The inadvertently posted rink photo by Kihira is interesting, but it was so far away that his identity wasn't exactly clear for me, though I could make out Alicia. In the pic, Marko looks somewhat heavier with big hair. I haven't followed him on IG, but I know he's been seeking a new partner for well over a year after finally splitting with Mazingue. Holly Hunter Harris has been posting photos with Marko, her boyfriend since the Mazingue split.

Most of Canada’s history we only tended to have a couple contenders at Olympics or World’s… sometimes just one

Seems we got so spoiled in the 2010’s people forgot
 
I know the rumours are that Zachary Lagha is teaming up with Hannah Lim. But I wonder if he considered Alicia Fabry.
They wouldn't have to sit out a year due to citizenship issues. And I'd say she's more at his skill level than Lim, who I love.

Alicia has been seen skating with Marko Gajdajenko.
Imo Hannah seems to be a better match for Zach, her charisma and style of permorming could fit him. I can't imagine Zach and Alicia as a team, I don't know, just don't see it, their vibe is too different.
