Truly, there were only two disappointments at Junior worlds and many good things to cheer about.

Disappointing : that our pairs didn't handle the pressure as well as they did previously this year. One of them, if not two, had it to win a medal. But that happens and they will learn from this and will be skating in juniors next year again. They maxed out on spots for both JGP and JWC so it's not all lost.

Disappointing ; that our dance teams didn't get a slightly better result to earn the 3 spots.. Mind you, I didn't expect that to happen before the event but considering how well they skated from earlier groups and how high their BV were calculated, a bit more GOE and PCS would have made the difference for the 3 spots.

All the rest really ; cannot complain. If our senior skaters in singles manage at wolrds as well as Lulu and Aleksa, I will be happy. Let' s just hope that our senior pairs and dance teams do slightly better ;)

And regarding Anthony : there is no worry about his triple lutz. He's had this jump forever. Of course, coming back from injury is not easy.
Let's see if he can grow a bit and get a bit more power this summer. With boys, the trajectory is different. (well unless you are Gogo and grow too much).
THe key to the men is growing only a bit but we have seen what growth spurts have done in decimating Canada's men. Even from medal potentials. Roman, Nam and Gogo all have shown huge promise but the height...has been challenging.

Félicitations à Audréanne Foster pour avoir obtenu une bourse de la Fondation Aléo qui souligne ses accomplissements sportifs et académiques. Merci à la Fondation Aléo et la Banque Nationale d'investir dans les rêves de nos jeunes.

From patinage Québec....

Audreanne got a scholarship ! Happy for her. Skate Canada doesn't give her assignments but at least, her talent is recognized.

Whatever happens tomorrow, nothing can take this away. This was awesome.
And perfectly timed for the west coast. Settled down to watch on CBC at 9 a.m. after breakfast. The cat joined me for awhile, but he doesn't like music coming from the laptop right next to his head as he naps, so he left, disgruntled, around about the third flight. Just as the last Italians were coming to the end, I heard "Meow?" and looked down to see him back, looking hopeful. "This is the last pair, right? So it's lunchtime now, right? RIGHT?!" It was 1 p.m., so yes, lunchtime.

I'm skipping the rest of today's showing. I'll be back for the pairs freeskate tomorrow afternoon.

My cats like watching skating. Mr Mog does sometimes get a little bit too interested in skaters with long limbs, though - so I need to be ready to protect the computer screen from attempts to catch them. It was Minerva who really got his attention tonight. Watching rhythmic gymnastics can be interesting with his love of trying to catch long limbs and madame mog's attempts to catch balls on the computer screen... :ROFLMAO:

When I had two cats, the older of whom died two years back, they used to be Olympics junkies. I had a big screen TV then, and I'd turn it on first thing in the morning and they'd come thundering down the hall, jostling each other to get the best spot on the couch to watch all day. They liked the summer Games better, I guess because the background was more colourful than snow and ice, but the older cat was a hockey addict, jumping at the screen to try and catch the puck. The younger one who's still here likes beach volleyball best. Any sport where people jump around a lot, rather than moving in a straight line as in races.

I tried showing them one of the few video clips I have of my own pairs skating, but they just took a casual look and wandered away. Too slow for them, I guess. Not enough sparkles and sequins (they like costumes with lots of glitz). Or else: "Meh, it's just Mum."

Mixed bag from yesterday. Deanna and Max skating so well and getting 1st was fantastic. Then Maddie does her usual SP errors and has her lowest placing in 3 years. She seems to be going backwards. Had she even came close to her SB in the short she could be skating in the final group. Missed opportunity for sure. She is becoming the female Roman. Canada had better start sending out more SR ladies to get their mins asap. Where does she have to place to be assured of a GP assignment besides SCI?

Maddie should be fine for a non-host GP assignment. She's in the top 24 for world standings, that's one of the criteria.

Mens - Wesley, can he move up the standings with his free skate? Hoping he has the best free skate, out of the skaters in his group
Romsky 👏
Wow! I think the fact there was no pressure, helped him today. 11th place 😵‍💫 ; but, his PCS score was so low. Should have been over 40. Is he Canada’s hope now, for two spots?
4S (fully rotated), 3A (just added 😝) and a 3Lz 3T (not in second half, therefore, no bonus; but, good tactic)
I hope he doesn’t put pressure on himself in the free skate.

Also, Max and Deanne were amazing!
🥇 for Canada 🇨🇦
and to do it, in front of the home crowd. Wow!!
I’m in tears 😭 of happiness
