This competition is a commemoration to Mr. Georges Éthier, former member of the Board of Directors and member of the Patinage Québec Hall of Fame. He has invested a lot in the development of international competitions and the promotion of figure skating in Quebec.

Since 2014, this competition has been open to athletes in the all the disciplines in categories from Pre-Juvenile to the Senior level.
All Canadians summer events will be live-streamed (free)

More double checking between entry lists, Briere/Levesque and Cinçon-Debout/Celestino also withdrew.

Updated entries with groups (August 29) - https://patinage.qc.ca/wp-content/u...4-Liste_participants-avec-groupe-29082024.pdf

🇪🇸Megan Yudin/Patrizio Romano Rossi were added for Junior Pairs.

Schedule as of September 11 - https://patinage.qc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Horaire-SGE_2024_V2.pdf

Based on the differences in numbers between this and the last updated entry list, there were withdrawals in Junior Men, Senior Pairs and Junior Pairs. The withdrawals should align with Deanna/Max at Nebelhorn, along with Anthony and Quattrocchi/Desmarais at JGP Gdansk.

Fabbri/Ayer also withdrew since they're going to Denis Ten Memorial.
Very interesting 🤔
(looking forward to these events more than the GP series 🫣; I love watching our Canadians skate)
The women events are the most interesting as they have the most participants.
However, I’m super interested in Fiona/Benjamin and the Filipino male skater
In Juniors - I probably should be nervous about Stavrina, as she hasn’t been skating that well. Aleksa vs Mely Ann vs Sandrine
In Seniors - Gaby Daleman 👏
I’m going to be rooting for 166+ results.
Last season Justine exceeded the benchmark and ended up going to Autumn classic 🥉
(I know this is weird, but, i have a feeling the upcoming event in France will be open to Ladies that exceed this benchmark) will be rooting for Fee Ann the most

Entries for Trophy Metropole are due Friday, so they should be deciding now who they're sending. It likely won't be the skaters with GP assignments due to the timing of it (concurrent with Skate America and a week before SCI.)

Senior Pairs should be interesting given the TBD spot that's still open. I think this is where it'll be decided.

Oh!!
Well, I hope they automatically send:
1) Justine M - she participated at HP camp and has a SB of 169 from last season. She is not in 160+ shape this season. But, I have to imagine she was at HP camp for a reason

2) Fee Ann - she deserves it for her Challenger win last season. 180+ score was super impressive and she has already scored 165 domestically this season

It would be great to have
Maddie & Sara-Maude this weekend at Challenger event

Kaiya & Uliana at Denis Ten
(Are they confirmed?)
Kaiya and Uliana can aim for world minimums here…
Also, a score over 175, can put them on alternative list for a GP event next season
Kaiya and Uliana can also aim for 4CC debuts with a good performance here

Justine & Fee Ann at French Challenger
(would be a dream for me)
They both speak French and would be comfortable at this event. Fee Ann did get her sole Junior event at France. I’m crossing my fingers and praying this will happen to existence for this Friday
