For it to have happened at the start of their program, then to return as soon as the "replays with music playing over it" returns, then yes it was deliberate. The ISU this year is stricter in music rules (skaters this year have to purchase certain music rights for their programs).

Hmm, I’m not the biggest fan of that exit from the stationary lift for Neset/Markelov. I wish they had more flow out of that. The lift itself is very dynamic though!

What I really like about this team is that their choices look different than many of the other teams. Both are very strong skaters and tell their story convincingly.

So their skills notwithstanding I've never been into Neset/Markelov, I just don't vibe with them. I don't really love Elena Dostani's teams in general, if I had to choose I'd have chosen Isabella Flores for the nice FD she got but well...
