2024 Tallinn Trophy Adv. Novice Women SP&FS

Before yesterday, I had never seen a programme to the 2023 French Eurovision entry, "Évidemment" by La Zarra. And now I have seen two!

Arina KARSAKOVA (EST) was bearing a black dress and black tights.

She had a fall. And she was still doing her final spin when the music ended. (Don't think she was late enough to get another deduction, though).

But, otherwise, she was good.

She goes into 23rd position.

Marharyta CHACHYK (AUT)

Top half of dress is silver. Rest is black (including tights and gloves).

Unlike the last skater's music, it's been a while since I've seen a programme to this music.

I enjoyed it.

Sh goes into 21st position.

She seems happy enough.

That is a pity for Linnea - 1F-1T combo, seems like that mistake creeped in and made her very unfocused, she really got out of a balance of that last spin :(

Linnea HENRIKSEN (NOR) wearing a red dress.

Where is @elektra blue when you need her? Linnea's skating to her favourite song!

I can see why you were recommending her, @norwegianfairytale .

Unlike some people I have already mentioned, I love "Grande Amore", and always think it makes a great programme.

I didn't notice, does the Austrian girl that was on before her have the same coaching team?

She is breathing heavily too.

She goes into 25th position.

Well she actually didn´t seem very upset with scores, another skater that seems aware of the mistakes she made and uses it as a chance to learn!

Hmm... Good question, I would guess no. Since they coach in Northern Norway. They still train Maxima Rebernig, but at least she moved with them last season. Not sure what she is up to now.

For those that are seeing Oliviia for the first time, this is a modified version of her Basic Novice FS from last season. And that was my favourite programme of last season.

Lovely jump to start with.

Combination jump and combination spin immediately afterwards both beautiful.

They've changed the music in the middle of the programme.

I'll get too repetitive if I go through everything. Because it was all beautiful!

Last time out, she seemed to have lost the connection she had with the programme last season. But, she had it this week. So, it must just have been an off day.

Jelena Muhhina (Estonian Junior Champion for the 2001-02 Season) on one side, and Mum on the other.

Oliviia and her Mum each holding a cuddly toy.

She goes into 2nd position. And seems disappointed.

But she's only 0.16 points behind the leader! :drama:

I tell you, this girl is ambitious!

:cheer: WELL DONE OLIVIIA!!! :cheer:

Right, that's me bailing out for the night.

If the stream is still there in the morning, I'll watch what I have missed then.

(I should have got that programme that is expiring tonight watched this morning, but I didn't have time because I was writing a whole pile of reports about how my kids got on at the Denkova-Staviski Cup and Pavel Roman Memorial).

Ach, it's gone private.

I should have stayed. :palmf:

The irony is, I was seriously considering going to this event. And, hence, would have seen the whole thing. But the logistics at this end just wouldn't work out.

Seems like they put up some videoes from some skaters.

Edit: They are still uploading videoes, so it seems they are going to upload every skate.

Unfortauntely it seems they are mixing up the skaters names in the uploads:

I was going to ask if there was maybe a withdrawal earlier in their group, as that could have led to the videos being labelled as the skater on before them. But, I see from the results table that everybody was present and correct.

I have just started watching ths skaters that I missed yesterday, starting with Lina MATEIKO (LAT). And before I go any further can I just say that I LOVED her costume! White sleeveless blouse; black tie; black lederhosen; green figure-hugging shorts with three quarters of a green tartan skirt over it; black leather gloves; black socks with two white horizontal stripes at the top.

@elektra blue - this is the sort of costume I could imagine you would love, and might even wear yourself. Here is the video:

Anyway, were there major sound issues during her programme on the livestream? Or was the audio scrambled for the individual video to prevent the copyright police getting to it?

I am intrigued to know what her music was, but I am glad that we can at least watch her.

She went into what was 3 position at the time.

Oh, no. The girl on after her, Skater #9, was crying her eyes out while waiting for her scores. 😭

:ghug:

And I don't think it is the first time I have seen her crying either. I am nearly sure I've complained about her coach not comforting her when she was crying at a competition last year or the year before.

Well, he wasn't this time either.

She went into 8th position.

CaroLiza_fan

They must be scrambling the audio during individual programmes to prevent the video being zapped. Because out of the first four skaters in Group 2, #8 was scrambled; #9 was OK; #10 was scrambled; and #11 had her music muted completely!

I should add that I have actually seen the programme by #10 Glafira USPENSKA (LAT) intact. I saw her a couple of weeks ago at the Volvo Open Cup, and as soon as she came out here I recognised her from her costume. The irony is that I commented back then that I loved the music! :drama:

Unfortunately, she had a lot of red in Tallinn.

She went into what was 10th and last position.

#12 Evelina BARSAMOVA was another skater that I had seen at the Volvo Open Cup. And it was interesting what was done to her music here. With the song she was skating to in the first half, the parts where there were vocals were scrambled, but the instrumental parts weren't. And the music used in the second half, which was completely instrumental, was left intact.

To be honest, I wasn't keen on the song at the start anyway, so I didn't mind!

She went into 6th position.

Just to complete what happened in Group 2 with regards the music, the final two skaters (#13 and #14, both Estonian) had their music muted. And I was annoyed, because I hadn't seen either of them this season yet.

I was particularly annoyed about #14, because she was the girl that my girl Oliviia was fighting with week in, week out for the win at domestic competitions in Estonia when they were competing at Cubs level. And she had the second highest total Base Value of the entire field here! (Only the girl that would go on to win the SP had a higher total Base Value). So, I would have loved to see her programme as it was supposed to be seen.

She went into what was 2nd position at the time.

I know a lot of people on here joke about muting music that they don't like. But when you lose the music, you lose an integral part of the programme. And, I have to be honest, I am finding that I am not enjoying the muted programmes. And I am not paying as much attention to them as I am to the intact ones, or even the scrambled ones.

OK, so here are the skaters from Group 3, along with how their videos have been labelled:

#15 Mia Nataly LINT (EST) is labelled correctly.
#16 Melani IVANOV (EST) is labelled as #21 Pihla PITKANEN (FIN).
#17 Lilou REMEYSEN (BEL) is labelled as #20 Natalie TIEVA (FIN).
#18 Sofia NEKRASSOVA (EST) is labelled as #19 Ella Celine RISA-GOMEZ (NOR).
#19 Ella Celine RISA-GOMEZ (NOR) is labelled as #18 Sofia NEKRASSOVA (EST).
#20 Natalie TIEVA (FIN) is labelled as #17 Lilou REMEYSEN (BEL).
#21 Pihla PITKANEN (FIN) is labelled as #16 Melani IVANOV (EST).

Hope this helps

Before today's action starts, it would be remiss of me not to comment on the leader from the SP, skater #17 Lilou REMEYSEN (BEL).

She was wearing a black dress.

The music on the video was scrambled for the first 15 to 20 seconds. But, then it came back. Such strange music to be skating to. I don't know how to describe it.

But the skating was beautiful. Although I have seen the Protocols and know that there were issues, I didn't spot them. The quality was there to see.

This is going to be an exciting battle for the win. She is only 0.16 points ahead of my girl Oliviia BAZLOVA (CYP). And Sofia NEKRASSOVA (EST) is only 2.07 points further back.

Can't wait for the FS to start in just under an hour from now!
