2024 Tallinn Trophy Junior Women FS

Due to the withdrawal of the first skater in this group, #11 Eleonore CIFERRI (ITA), there was an extended resurfacing break to avoid the rest of the day being ahead of schedule. (Given how far we have been behind schedule by the end of the day on the past couple of days, that was probably not a wise decision).

But the Group 3 Warm-Up has now started.

What a strange programme for Lilian MUSGRAVE (GBR).

The costume was strange. The front of her top was mainly white, and looked like a cross between a "Daddy's Little Monster" top and something out of Samarin's closet. There was writing on it, but I couldn't make it out. The back of it was yellowy green at the top and blue below. She was also wearing figure hugging shorts that were red on the left hip, blue on the right hip, and black in the middle.

She also had her hair done up strange, and was wearing make-up that made her look as white as a sheet.

The music was strange. It was like church music at the start, and then a weird mash-up of "You Don't Own Me" and rapping.

She had a fall.

Amodio is going through a lot of things with her.

She goes into 5th in the FS, and 4th overall.

There is something about Adelija Matjunina which I liked, but I can't put my finger on what was attracting me to her skate.

I can't work out what's going on? They've finished the warm up, but no-one is skating?

The Zamboni is now coming out.

The skaters mustn't have been happy with the condition of the ice.

This is very unusual.

And what did I say earlier about them being unwise to have an extended break before Group 3...?

That decision is coming back to haunt them now!

The skater in the black dress with the flowers on it did speak to the referee at the end of the warm up before she left the ice

I wound the stream back, and checked the SP videos, and that was Sofia GADDO (ITA) in that unusual dress, who is due to be the first to skate.

She was definitely talking to her coach, getting ready to go out and skate. And then Sofia heard something, and looked over towards the officials, and somebody came over to them to tell them what was happening. Whether it was the referee or another coach, I don't know. But Sofia looked rather confused. So, I don't think it was her that complained.

Anyway, she's going now.

Really tough skate for Sophie Gaddo. She is miles better than that. Can't help wondering if the delays caused that.

Drat! I was submitting my Finlandia Predictions when the all the drama started kicking off here. And with all the confusion over what was going on, I forgot to click "Save"! :bang: :bang: :bang:

I've just done so, and they have appeared on the thread. So, I hope they get allowed.

Poor Marianne. She is so upset.

I remember when I first saw her, and she was such an exciting prospect. But, she's really gone backwards in recent years.

She's aging out of Juniors this season. And if she continues like this, she's going to be eaten alive in Seniors.

Oh no. She burst into tears when her scores were announced. 😭

:ghug:

She goes into 11th in the FS, and 10th overall.

The whole group were poor (yes, Pernile With has gone into second, but it still wasn't a good skate for her). I can't help thinking that the huge delay and extra ice resurface has thrown them all off.

Just as a bit of housekeeping, #19 Agnė IVANOVAITĖ (LTU), who was due to skate after Marianne, was a withdrawal.

Now for our schedueld resurfacing.

I would say it definitely has.

Like, we see how playing the wrong music can unsettle skaters. And that is usually resolved in a few minutes. But this was something like a 20 minute delay.

I hope that it doesn't have a knock on effect on the skaters in the later groups. Although, we have actually clawed back some of the time lost, due to Ivanovaitė's withdrawal from that group.

I think I'm going to leave our poor girls to their fate and focus more on Finlandia. Will pop back here on the warm up between groups.

The see-through plastic left shoulder strap of Carlota GARCIA BARRANCO (ESP)'s bra snapped towards the end of her programme, and she was fiddling at it when she was coming off the ice.

Don't worry, the dress itself had enough straps on it to avoid us seeing anything we shouldn't.

She did get a deduction, but that was for a fall, not a wardrobe malfunction..

She goes into 5th in the FS, and 4th overall.

I'm starting to wonder if the timing page was correct when it said that both #11 Eleonore CIFERRI (ITA) and #45 Iida KARHUNEN (FIN) have withdrawn.

I'm pretty sure that Cifferi has, because I just checked her SP video, and she was clearly in pain at the end of her programme. Indeed, she didn't even go to the results area after her programme.

But, I'm starting to wonder if marking Karhunen as a withdrawal was a mistake, because she was the skater that was on straight after Cifferi in the SP.

I don't know how the computer systems work, but is it possible that the person marking Eleonore as a withdrawal could have accidentally clicked Iida's name on the next row and marked her as a withdrawal instead? And then realised and did it for Eleanore, but forgot to correct Iida's status.

I'm probably clutching at straws, but mistakes can happen.

According to the sportity app IIda has wd. Very sad about that as the last group contained skaters from six nations. And two of them were nordic skaters for a change
