Looking resplendent in a Ralph Lauren gown, Michelle Kwan walked the red carpet at the Women's Sports Foundation's 29th Annual Salute to Women in Sports. Last year, Kwan, 28, received the Billie Jean King Contribution Award. This year, she was simply present to show her support of an organization that gave her a helping hand before she was a nine-time U.S. ladies champion, five-time world champion and two-time Olympic medalist.

"College has been exactly how I imagined it," Kwan said. "I have a great group of friends. I love Denver and I've had a really good experience. You always say you want to drop everything and focus on school. I really did that. I made it my priority."

I am so proud of her. When she first enrolled for a semester at UCLA she said that she wanted to go to college, live in the dormatory, be a regular student, and do all the things that she felt she might be missing. She was afraid that if she put it off until "later," later would be too late.

She admitted her first quarter was tough,...

I can hear her now, "In skating, I was world champion five times. Now all I can get on my poli sci term paper is a stinkin' B+?"

Well, I think the US Presidential line of succession should be modified to include the "holder of most US National figure skating titles in history". I'd put it at number 9 - after Secretary of the Interior and before Secretary of Agriculture.:agree:
