Someone compared Sanchez to Pulkinen (which I strongly disagree with. Pulkinen’s skating is forgettable and nondescript). Sanchez reminds me more of a combination of Miura and Frangipani. He has the former’s speed and the latter’s earnestness. That was a good skate. He’s not going to beat Seo in the free but will beat him overall.

Earnest is a good way to describe him, I agree.

Jacob Sanchez, what a joy! He did not wilt after the error on the opening 3Axel and he really does portray a complete skater on the ice. It’s wonderful to see a junior skater not ignore the importance of PCS and that really helped him here tonight. Beautiful skate and at least a silver medal here. Way to go!!
