Since I apparently have too much time on my hands, I compared the start numbers of this year's SP to last year's. Some absolutely useless factoids I gathered from this pointless exercise:

- Only one skater has drawn the exact same number, with Yuna Shiraiwa skating 7th both last year and this year.

- Wakaba Higuchi and Yuna Aoki swapped places (Yuna skated 18th last year and Wakaba skated 25th, and they've now drawn 25th and 18th, respectively)

- Hana Yoshida is only one spot off (skated 24th last year and will skate 23rd this year), and Rinka Watanabe is also in the same warmup group as last year (st. 19 -> st. 21)

- Of this year's competitors, roughly 69% (20/29) were at last year's senior nationals. New this year: Ayumi Kagotani, Kiri Hirakane, Chiyono Nagami, Yurina Okuno, Mei Okada (junior), Mayuko Oka (junior), Kaoruko Wada (junior), Ami Nakai (junior), and Mai Takahashi. Eight of last year's competitors are not competing this year.

- If you were using the start orders of the top skaters from last year to try to predict this year's results, Hana Yoshida is the lucky winner - she drew #23, the start position of last year's SP winner (Kaori Sakamoto). Mai Mihara (#27, same as last year's SP runner-up Mako Yamashita) and Mai Takahashi (#17, same as 3rd-place Mone Chiba from last year) would round up the podium. Terribly unreliable way to predict results, but that's actually not as unrealistic as it could've been

- On the other hand, if you were using SP start positions of last year's overall medalists, your podium would be:
1. Hana Yoshida (overall last year: Kaori Sakamoto, SP st. # 23)
2. Mai Takahashi (overall last year: Mone Chiba, st. # 17)
3. Rinka Watanabe (overall last year: Mao Shimada, SP st. # 21)

*I am fully aware that this is an utterly arbitrary way to predict results which means absolutely nothing, but I did think the comparison was interesting.*

Clear your cache for FOD specifically
I had the same problem recently and had to do this
If you're using Express VPN some locations in Japan work better than others for FOD (Shibuya works for me)
