I've never seen Shun splat like that, even when he was skating with a dislocated shoulder. This is 100% just a case of nerves - Japanese Nationals is a whole new level of pressure - but he's so good and has made such improvements with his PCS this season, and this skate doesn't reflect his potential at all. But also... he kind of phoned in the last few minutes and I really wish he would have fought for that step sequence and choreo sequence, but I also totally get it on a human level - he must feel so disappointed right now.

I'm curious what placement JSF would want Nobunari Oda to achieve here to get assigned one of the ISU championships. :scratch2:
Nobu doesn't have minimums, he hasn't competed internationally since 2013, so he'd have to be sent out to a Senior B first. I don't think there are many opportunities left before the 4CC entry deadline (22nd January), and the entry deadlines for the two or so competitions before that have probably already passed as well.

To fulfill any of the Worlds criteria, he'll have to medal, and even then, JSF can decide to send someone else who has already competed internationally this season.

Horrible falls!!
What is wrong with the Japanese Men?
His jumps had no height or lift off.

I hope Tatsuya places higher than Shun

Sato really needs to get a hold of his nerves. He even took a nasty fall on the second part of a Euler combination. And his 4T has been so consistent and he was barely getting off the ground. That was very hard to watch.
