I am not sure if he fits all the criteria i gave but it's not the one I have in mindRobin Cousins?

Now a choreographer
I once was a great competitor
One year, I won the biggest prize
Yet, I had failed to win at home twice
Who am I ?
Nice guess : it could have worked but I am looking for someone who won a big event but failed to win the events they had at home that year...Shae-Lynn Bourne - choreographer, won Worlds in 2003 but didn't win at two Worlds in her home country - 1996 and 2001

I also thought Shae-Lynn for the same reason as @SkateGuardBlog! Now I'm stuck.Nice guess : it could have worked but I am looking for someone who won a big event but failed to win the events they had at home that year...
Yeah...I know... II also thought Shae-Lynn for the same reason as @SkateGuardBlog! Now I'm stuck.
You got it...Jeffrey Buttle. Won worlds 2007-8 season but 2nd at Canadian Chanpionships and 3rd at Skate Canada. I was there at Nationals! First national championship for Patrick Chan and Virtue/Moyer!
I was a Jeff hardcore fan.. sublime skating skills... the kid was good.. but you know... when you love a skater for so long... and he's won an olympic medal and you hope he will win at home in 2010.. and some new kid shows up...
and from Jeff, I moved on pretty swiftly to Patrick
moving from Patrick to skater X is proving to be a bit more difficult... so I just have many faves now

you win ! HAHAEvgeni Krasnopolski? He had seven partners, placed 5th in 2021 Nebelhorn Trophy, skated singles and pairs, was at Junior Worlds 4 times...and a lot of the other things add up too, just too lazy to type them all out now![]()
hint : easier than you may think^ Still thinking about it. Who can it be?
I'm in big trouble with this, but I'm enjoying your riddles as well @4everchan !I was not born in the country I represented at the Olympics
I don't have a sister named Debra
Some think my spins are awesome. iJS says no.
My ancestor is perhaps more groundbreaking than I am.
Who am I?
OK.. time for hints thenI was not born in the country I represented at the Olympics : this is not hard... so I won't give a hint for now.
I don't have a sister named Debra : Debra here, is a popular actress.
Some think my spins are awesome. iJS says no. : My spins are fast and centered but I am not bendy.
My ancestor is perhaps more groundbreaking than I am.
