Ilia is doing all of that simply because he can. He had a 20 point lead so he definitely didn’t need to do it. This is his best Nationals free skate (he blew the second half the last two years), but Andrew still did better.

Guys, does Jason has grounds for petitioning at all..? If not, who do you think will get that 3rd spot??

Before I give my answer, I will say I don't know enough about the rules that surround getting a petition.

From what I've seen posted, petitions for byes to competitions seem to specify injury or illness. They don't specify "equipment problems". Jason has never said he has any injuries or illness. It's always been phrased as an equipment issue.

I don't know if that means Jason would be denied a bye if he petitioned for one.

I think the World team should be Ilia, Andrew, and either Camden or Maxim.
