2025 U.S. Nationals Senior Men's Free Skate

The big question is can Jason regain the 3A? Has he landed it all season? I can't recall.

Don't get me wrong, I love watching Jason skate, and if he were granted a spot on the team, I would be happy for him and the chance to see him skate again.

I wouldn't want to be the on the panel that has to make this decision! LOL

Yeah to be clear when I say Jason for Worlds, it assumes he is monitored and is able to regain his content. Obviously it would be a no if he doesn’t even have a 3A.

But I’m not even sure how that would work considering they have to make the decision now and he only has his broken boot body of work from this season.

Otherwise, I’d send Max over Camden.

I feel the same way now as I did immediately after the women finished. It had to be Amber, Alysa, and Isabeau. And this team has to be Ilia, Andrew, and Jason.
Why does Jason have to be on the team?? He has not skated well this year at all?? He has given up on any quad? I love his skating but objectively he will always be a great show skater if not regardless.

What I am a bit concerned is thejudging. Ilia gets a monster score even with errors In part his jumps are worth so much. Remember a fall especially on the more difficcult quads is worth a significant triple.

@4everchan and i right now 🍾🍾🍾 (of course we have knives hidden under our sashes)

I'd pick Camden for worlds. Nothing against Jason. But I think Camden did enough and really has turned his season around.
Maybe, surpassing 250+ as the “good”benchmark will work in his favour.
Jason’s best score this season is only 229, he didn’t skate here, and i don’t think he successfully landed a single fully rotated 3A this season.

But, Camden, like Sarah, doesn’t have the receipts to satisfy a top ten placement. After attacking Jason yesterday, about not competing, I would let him take a chance due to finishing 5th last two worlds.

Can you believe I’m supporting Jason now?

Ok. So after this event, here are my picks for selection:

JR. Worlds - Jacob, winner of Junior nationals (I didn’t even see that event)

4CC - Andrew, Camden, Max

SR. Worlds - Ilia, Andrew and Jason 😳
- After arguing against Jason all day yesterday, I deliberated between Camden and Jason and chose in favour of Jason by 60/40 decision. Camden is too 🌵 and 4CC is a gift for him and Max. We need a skater that can score 240+ internationally and I think if Jason regains his 3A, he is the one 🫣)
I disagree. I think the Worlds team should be Ilia, Andrew, and Pulkinen. If the US loses a spot it only means three weren’t needed in the first place. I also disagree with Levito over Everhardt, but at least that decision isn’t unfair and makes sense. But Brown isn’t a World medalist, skated poorly in the GP series and withdrew from Nationals because he’s not in form, not because of injury. Based on all that, no he shouldn’t be chosen for Worlds because he’s not skating at the level he has in the past.

then if not Camden, send Max. :) Jason has had a terrible season so far. And now new boots. I am not sure he should go.

Nope. I watched all his three events. He landed a 3A< once 😵‍💫

What a great skate by Ilia. Too bad about the loop. That looked like it hurt.

But, ... I have waited a VERY long time for a performance like this one from Andrew, and it is the one from Nationals that will go into my rewatch pile.

This would be a gift for Jason but I understand. At some point Jason if he doesn't add the quad may find himself on the short end of the stick. So far he has avoided that but the day may be coming. I find Jason clinging on for dear life - by next season if he doesn't solve his equipment issues orr egain the 3A solidlly he maybe looking at selling popcorn at the olympics.

OK. You convinced me in favour of Camden now. (60/40 for Camden) 🥺

Can they do a skate off between Camden and Max (at 4CC)?

The one real reason to pick Jason for Worlds is not about spots... it's not about other competitors... it's simply about selling as many tickets as possible... but does Boston need this with Ilia already there ?
