I absolutely love Kevin’s skating, but watching is 50% wonder and 50% debilitating anxiety.

I am beginning to think he has had repeated unhealed concussions from his various successive falls. He just seems to get lost once he rotates. I want him to take a long rest and get some medical advice. Finding his way out likely cannot be helped by all the support in the world.

Thought the Kovalevs were quite stylish this year - the simple matching tops and black trousers worked well in the SP.

I totally agree about the new black costumes. I loved them too, and thought they looked great.

That said, after getting used to the green costumes, it was surreal seeing them skating to the same music wearing something so vastly different.

I haven't seen the FS yet.

I predict 76.XX for PCS. What is it . . . 76.69. Bingo. Were it a SP, it would have been 38.XX. 38.XX is what a crappy SP performance for Kevin looks like and 76.XX for a FS. No conspiracy theories required.

He is 27, with lots of injuries.

Apparently I missed the memo that Vivaldi, James Brown, comedic gestures, and a maternity shirt all belong together in skating. I need to watch my fax machine more vigilantly next year.

Kevin. It was rough, but he never gave up the performance.

I was critical of Kevin in this regard after the short, but I agree with your statement here.

Jumps aside, he didn't give up, or at least he didn't just toss it away like I thought he did for the middle portion of the short program.
