I've refrained myself not to engage in this debate, since this whole thing is a moot point. But that video is clearly out of line. But the super-slow motion makes it clear that Yu-Na took off on flat edge. You can see that her ankle briefly leans toward outside but is back on the flat at the moment of take off. If you focus on her blade, it's pretty obvious. All these time certain losers committ to forgery, only if they could learn..

BTW, I do not blame everyone who suspects Yu-Na's flip. There was a moment of leaning outside--BUT she eventually took off on flat edge, and it is unfair to reduce it to bitter rant of Mao fans.

To be honest, I am FAR from being a Mao fan, in fact I'm probably a bigger Yuna fan than I am a Mao fan. I actually regret saying anything, I just called the edge as I saw it.

I believe you. And your preference has nothing to do with saying what you saw.
I , just as a big Yu-Na fan, tried to see what I wanted to see, and I actually saw it. That's fairly simple. I just wish Mao wasn't brought up, but those two names apparently have to always go together.

It's really really interesting to see a few guys desperately obsessed with yu-na's flip while every TV commentator and journalist praised her picture-perfect jumping technique.

It's not just those two, though? Basically everyone agrees about Yu-Na's great ability on the 3Flip-3Toe.

In fairness, I would give of only what I had to -1. unfortunately I couldn't give her Goes on the jump.

Yuna's program was nice... But that is all. Just nice... Not even close to Michele's Sherezade.. I really cannot feel for Yuna, I dont know why. Unfortunately, I have the same feelings about Mao. Two world top female skaters are not my cup of tea. That sucks! Hard to read all the boards that discuss who will dominate the season - Mao or Yuna, Yuna or Mao. I hope someone else will threathen those two.

Maybe threaten but both girls really deserve to go 1-2 at the Olympics. If they had been allowed to skate at the Olympics at least one would have medaled (if not both) and maybe won would have won. They were both screwed by the age rules, and it would be horrible if costs them an Olympic title/ medal. I don't care which one wins, but both deserve it.

I think it's way to early to say that they deserve to go 1-2 at the Olympics because it's still 15 months untill the game and things can change a lot. But from the programs I saw from last week's SA and today's SC(sp), I sitll think Yuna and Mao will in their our field above everyone else nowadays.

P.S Although I havenot seen Mao porgrams this, I from the training videos I saw, I have a feeling that Mao has very good Programs this year. Looking forward to seeing them

The only way to tell if those two deserve 1-2 at the Olympics is to let them compete at the event, and be the best/second best, accordingly.

How can any one "deserve" an olympic medal over a year before the event even takes place? The Olympics, like any other competition, should be about whoever was the best on that particular day (or two days, I guess, since there are two programs). There is no way to know that either of them would have medalled in 2006, and there is no way of knowing now how either of them will skate in 2010. After all the hype, I'd like to see anyone but Mao and Yu-Na take gold in Vancouver!

I think it is ridiculous. Suppose they have both already peaked? Or suppose one or both gets injured before the Olys? Or finds the pressure to be too much and turns into a basket case? There are just too many scenarios to consider before proclaiming that Yu-Na and Mao, and ONLY Yu-Na and Mao "deserve" to win Oly gold and silver in some order. They deserve it a year from now because none of the other ladies are skating well now? WHoever skates the best at that time deserves it.

Hype just irritates the heck out of me, as it is often generated by the uber-fans that I cannot tolerate. It never makes me want to actually root for the hyped skaters in question.
