Better places in the 2026 Olympic ice rink

If this was a competition where I was allowed to take photos, I'd be sad not to be closer to the ice, but I guess at the Olympics you're not allowed to, so it's fine. And binoculars or not, I know that as soon as I'll see Deanna and Max step on Olympic ice I will be in tears 😅😅
Are you not allowed to take photos?! I didn’t realise that! Well that makes my further away seats not too bad then!

I'm actually not sure and I will send an email to ask if there is no info on that. Just can't really imagine that it's allowed 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hello! I was lucky enough to get an early draw through the lottery so I just bought my tickets this morning. When you buy tickets you can’t choose your seats - you can only choose a category price (A,B,C,) and the number of seats you want. As has already been noted, the tickets are not cheap!

I managed to get tix for the Rhythm Dance in the cheapest category (C). From the site map, category C seats are located in the 4 corners of the 2nd tier. I also got tickets for the Free Dance, but all the “cheap” seats are sold out so I had to buy seats in the Category B, which are the 4 middle sections of the 2nd tier. It looks like only the most expensive seats, Category A, are all in the first tier closer to the ice, which is a shame!

I have no idea what row or section my seats are in - apparently you don’t find out until December this year, when your tickets will be available via their app! It seems like a crazy process… But it’s been a dream of mine to see Olympic figure skating so I’m just going with it!!

I definitely agree that going to see Worlds, Euros, 4CC, or Grand Prix is a cheaper way to see figure skating and get better seats as I’ve been to a few of those comps before and was able to pick my seats and pay much less :)
I'm very happy for you as well as for the others here that bought tickets!! And thank you for your detailed informations, and for you all's, I appreciate it a lot!!

Very unfortunately I had to withdrawn from buying tickets, they were absolutely too much expensive for me. I hoped I'd found some special price offer, but evidently the price list published months ago was just that. I'm surprised though that I've been called very soon from the lottery, I have been assigned from 10 to 12 february morning. That was very fast! I don't know but I couldn't find tickets for men free program:scratch2:... anyway, they'd have been too much expensive. I guess it's like a "ticket window" where you might not have access to every competition?
I can't wait to participate to the other events though, now I have get wised enough from you, and I thank you all:)!!

For what it's worth, folks at the Paris Games said that there were designated no photography areas in certain venues, but that overall pics were allowed as long as you had a mobile and not a long-lens camera. So, I am hopeful! No video, of course.
Depends on what they mean by long lens. Mine's like 20 cm... Not as long as those of professional photographers of course 😂

No, that means the event has sold out. All eventes were available on February 6, but some categories/events sold out.

Ohh... Wow..😅
Wouldn't it have been more fair to avoid lottery selection days leaving instead an open window from february 6 to 22 for everyone enrolled in the list, and not with a lottery?....

I think it can be very hard to tell where the best viewpoints are in an unknown venue, it depends on the precise geometry of the auditorium - where do they have glass screening, pillars, lighting rigs? How big is it, how steeply banked and how tightly radiussed are the corners? And, for FS, where do they have the K&K, where do the skaters enter from, and where are off-duty competitors and team-mates allowed to sit?! 😁

Some of the theatres and venues I occasionally book are great - on the booking plan, they include a photo of the stage taken from the seat you are booking. That's what we need here!

Oh no sorry to hear that. The navigation menu was a bit funny as I had to search figure skating and then scroll the dates to find the ice dance competitions I wanted, so that may be why you couldn’t find the men’s free skate. My husband had the same lottery dates as you so I went into the ice dance comps again just out of curiosity and there were only most expensive seats left for the free dance and for rhythm dance there were seats left in the the two most expensive sections, so it does seem like if you want cheap seats you have to get a very early draw. I was on the 2nd day and all the cheap seats for FD were already gone! The seats are ridiculously expensive which is such a shame.

I hope you get to another competition next year - Worlds is in Prague so that could be a good shout for you and of course Europeans in Sheffield! Best of luck!

I found myself searching among the competitions too, it was funny for me to see that curling started from 30 euros if I remember well and then seeing the amount of 2.800 for the closing ceremony, just a little bit range of difference..... I enrolled my sisters and my parents to the lottery and we were all given the same dates as mine, but we found the same prices. Sorry for you too to hear your experience, maybe if we were selected for february 6 we could have had a chance to get cheapy tickets. Just maybe:biggrin:.
And they're even declaring every event to be accessible to families... really?:what:
Thank you for your kind words:) I now know many more things about seats, prices, "accessories" for general events thanks to our chats on here, and I'm happy about that!
