I still think Kazuki is probably oblivious to how much Kao looks up to him, he probably thinks Kao just likes the bag and that's it lol
I remember after Kassouya when Dai-chan said to the younger skaters: 'Don't be so cold next time we meet, we're like family now' - it takes so much awareness and confidence to be reassuring like that.

Meanwhile, Kazuki is so friendly, but also so clueless 🫣 I have seen Kao fans expressing their frustration because Kazuki described Kao as being a quiet and shy person, when in fact Kao is actually quite outgoing, he only gets quiet and shy around the senpai he admires so much, but senpai doesn't notice his feelings 😭

There was even a funny situation because one of the Kao stans decided to go to the skating class in Nikko where Kazuki was one of the instructors (she lives in the area and the class was free), just to see 'what the fuss was about' re: Kazuki. She said she also felt very nervous around Kazuki and came back 'defeated', saying 'I now understand how Kao-kun feels' 😅

Maybe if Kao just says it out loud how much he looks up to Kazuki that’ll get the point across. Kazuki has a lot going on, so maybe he isn’t able to be as focused on other skaters. “What the fuss was about?” This is Kazuki we are talking about! Thee Tomono Kazukisan. The man has so many qualities to admire and not just because he is a famous figure skater. If I was able to go to an event like that in the future with Kazuki there I would want to get to know him for him. I’d be a friend to him even if it was for a short while. I think he is a great guy in real life. Someone to really know. Someone that knows himself and what he wants. Someone who has a big heart and deserves all good things.

Haha yes. I just think he's one of those people who don't understand the effect they have on other people. He said he wants his fans to think of him as 'nothing special', uh... hello? Absolutely impossible, Kazuki.

Meanwhile, it's nice to see that he continues to be his enthusiastic self. Fans were amused yesterday, because Kosho Oshima posted a message saying it's his birthday, he's turning 22 but will continue to compete etc... Kazuki's reply:
Congratulations 😭😭.
I wish you all the best in the future!


Fans said that the way Kazuki replied, it was so enthusiastic that it sounded like he was replying to a really big personal announcement (such as a marriage announcement), not a mere birthday post 😂

He is a normal guy and he is special. I wish I could learn from him even if I’m an adult skater.

That does seem very enthusiastic. Maybe Kazuki is just excited. I remember Kazuki said once he would like to be married one day and take his lady to sauna with him. Such a romantic 💝
 
Kazuki gave a lovely interview yesterday, saying he's been in a slump and Hiraike-sensei's words helped him to get out of it :pray: They relationship is so touching

I have sadly not gotten the chance to see any of the skating from 4CC so far as I have been Japan, but I just saw that Kazuki is in third so far! Well done!👏 Keep up the good work for the free!

I actually brought my Tomono towel to a large public bathhouse (a so-called "super sento") that afternoon before he skated. In addition to various different types of baths, this place also had a sauna facility! I brought my towel in the sauna a couple of times, putting it on my head and face so as to counteract the heat. It worked well enough for that purpose. However, I wouldn't recommend taking a Tomono towel to a bathhouse without washing it first, I didn't do that beforehand and some of the red dye bled when the towel got wet. 😅 Also, I have realized saunas aren't for me. 😅 But all in all, I'm glad to have cheered Kazuki on in a unique way...

What can I say guys, he was lucky yesterday most of the other guys made mistakes too, so a medal is still within reach. But, of course, there is the issue of the free programme this season... We shall see.

For now, I gotta say I really enjoyed his performance yesterday! Underscored as usual, that axel was great and those steps were 🔥

What was it like at the public bathhouse? Didn't Kazuki once say he prefers to have a private bath instead of bathing with others? Same with sauna right?

Stay positive. I think he'll get on the podium. It will be close. Or maybe he could win by a landslide. You never know. Anything can happen. This is what I know from my own experiences as an adult figure skater. You have to believe in yourself and trust yourself. It is more mental than physical. If you don't believe and trust in yourself then you're not going to do it. Being injured also is a factor. I don't know if Kazuki is still injured. If he is, he'll have to do what he can. It is all he can do. He has to skate like himself and no one else, which he does because he has his own style.
 
Kazuki's FS - unfortunately it wasn't enough for the podium, but the step sequence was particularly great this time 😊:



Normally I try not to get too worked up about the scoring because that would have taken the joy out of the sport for me a long time ago, but for Kazuki's PCS to be just over a point ahead of Mikhail's (as great as he was here and certainly deserved the win) is a crime. I would even say that several guys should have been ahead of Mikhail in PCS. Oh well... 😕

Unless Kazuki is called up as a substitute, it's now on to next season with hopefully two strong programs. I'd love to see him bring back Halston and work with Shae-Lynn on a new SP! :pray:
