Oona Brown & Gage Brown

Gold for the Browns' at the Santa Claus skating event in Hungary.

I caught Oona and Gage performing yesterday at the Riverbank State Park Tree Lighting. They did their James Brown RD. Enjoy!

The Browns for OIP:

New interview.

Their family house was foreclosed on.

That was a difficult read, but so impressed by Oona and Gage's fortitude and commitment to their craft

I am more impressed by how they have handled themselves in adversity than any number of medals.

Thanks for sharing, @dorispulaski. I had no idea what they were going through 😨. I’m grateful that they have been able to continue skating and happy to hear that skating is a healthy escape for them.

Kind of cute that their brother suggested the FD music for them. The Browns are the first team I’ve followed since junior worlds, and have always appreciated their close family & down to earth vibe. Based on the article it seems like the vibe is authentic. I hope they are able to keep on going to greater success, and maybe they’ll be able to help the family along the way 🫡

I think coming in 5th was a huge victory for them, showing that moving to IAM part-time is working for them. I'm kind of annoyed they were named 3rd alternates for both Worlds and 4CC instead of second alternates but I guess their lead over Bratti/Somerville was very slim and they lost the FD to them.

I hope they can keep this momentum going into next season and maybe make it onto the podium in the coming years.

I agree! It was really exciting to see them moving up and they should be proud of this victory. Will it help them get more funding from the federation?

I also find it a little annoying that they got third alternates, and you are probably right about the reasoning. I would like to send them to 4CC, though. I think at least one team may back out of 4CC but that still wouldn’t get them in. I do feel like they skated as well as they ever have if not better at Nationals, and that was a highlight for me in an ice dance competition that I overall liked a lot more than last year’s. I wasn’t completely sold on the FD previously, but I think this time I was able to see what they wanted us to see in it. Both programs were fun to watch 👏

The Browns are on the road.

So I saw the Browns perform in Ice Dance International's Soar show this past weekend, and it was a lot of fun! If you are a fan of this team and the show comes to your area, I would highly recommend making the effort to get out to see it. What's interesting about the show is you see the Browns skating both together and with other people. Gage partners Karina Manta in several group numbers, while Oona skates with Canadian skater Jean-Simon Legare and others. Gage also takes a lead role in a number called the "Three Smokers." Additionally, Oona and Gage perform their own solo program, a contemporary lyrical piece specially choreographed for them by Doug Webster. I enjoyed seeing them skate to this music, because it's different from their other recent programs. I spoke with Oona & Gage briefly after the Boston show and they said they're enjoying the tour a lot. I'm sure they would love to see fans at upcoming shows! Check out the tour schedule & tickets:
