Sorry that I cannot translate everything. I don't understand why she does not have it in English as well given that she seems to like speaking English very much.

But Fumie says that she is very happy with Morozov. She acknowledges that many ppl would have felt that she should have quitted after Torin. But now that she's met Morozov, she is really happy that she did not quit then. If she had done so, she would have ended "without knowing nothing."

She says, "I had several discussions/talks with him (at first he did not even let me discuss/talk with him) and my feelings/motivation changed a lot. I have come to think that I would like to come to him and win."

She thinks that she is moving towards a positive direction but is worried about the timeline. But she leaves everything to Nicolai so that she believes that he could pull it together.

BTW, I like pictures here. She looks youthful and pretty.

how did you know what it says on her website? you guys speak Japanese?
 
I think it interesting that Fumie says that her motivation changed a lot through discussing with Morozov and that she leaves everything to him.

To me, it was understandable that Miki sounded so dependant on him after her Olympics because she was young, seemed very softhearted by nature, and would have been emotionally vulnerable at that time. Morozov also helped Dai who was famous for his nerves become stronger under pressures. Dai seems to me to be softhearted by nature and the way he cried in Morozov's arms at Worlds 2007 seemed to show how much emotional support he was perceiving from Morozov. I also suppose that Morozov's mental toughness and self-confidence would help Nobu emotionally this comeback season.

This is just my personal view; but I just did not expect Fumie, as a 27-year-old with such a veteran career with well-known self-discipline, to say things like that. I heard before that Morozov emotionally engages with his students and help them mentally. He seems to me to have real charisma to his students and help them boost their confidence and motivation. To me, Fumie has always seemed to be a person who has a very strong belief system (her comments always strike me as being extremely spiritual). I am glad that she seems to trust and believe her new coach so much, which seems to be so much helping her skating life.
 
ks777, I can't say I can converse fluently nor read great literature in Japanese.
I'm just sorta familiar with the language since I'm half Japanese. I believe I know less than 100 kanjis, so reading newspaper is out of question:laugh:

Bennett, I suspect it is part of the contract that Morozov is entirely responsible for programs, costume, etc. Fumie would have to trust Morozov for their coaching relationship to work out, and this must be true with other students of Morozov as well.

What does this mean exactly? Does it mean Morozov showed very little interest in taking on Fumie at the beginning. Maybe something is lost in translation? I found it's telling that Morozov didn't even accompany her to Skate Canada, obviously she's not considered the very 'top priority' of Morozov. Maybe Morozov himself didn't expect her to do so well at Skate Canada Interesting.::bow:

She still does not have a 3loop, not even a reliable 3S.

wow I didn't know! I thought I was the only one who could read japanese! Now I don't feel so previledged.

I can't view the article right now, so I have no idea. I'll read it later, once I find my Windows install CD and install the support for the Japanese language.

Or maybe he thought that she is a tough lady and can handle herself well enough at this stage? She's not exactly a junior skater, plus she had Stanislav to accompany her.
According to a Japanese poster, Nikolai at that time was in Japan, where two of his students (Nobunari Oda and Daisuke Murakami) competed during the weekend. He accompanied Daisuke in K&C. Nobu skated very well and won, but Daisuke deems to be struggling with jumps - he landed them, but a lot of them were downgraded. Maybe Nikolai simple chose to accompany the skaters who needed the most help.

She still does not have a 3loop, not even a reliable 3S.

She switched coaches only very recently - fixing one's technique is not something that can be done in a matter of weeks. It's already impressive how much she improved since 4CC 2008. She's not at the level of Mao, YuNa or Joannie, but many skaters struggle for lng years to achieve the level Fumie is currently at.
She landed a clean 3S at Japanese Regionals shortly before SC. Maybe she took it out at SC because she was looking for a clean performance to boost her confidence.
 
I am glad that Fumie's happy with Morozov. He's a very good coach and I already see improvement in her.

Also, did anyone notice how Fumie spoke Russian in kiss and cry at Skate Canada. I was completely shocked!:laugh:

I hope things continue to go well for Fumie. I always liked her skating.

How old is Fumie?

Wasn't Morozov the one that got involved with skaters and has married and divorced 2 skaters already or am I getting him confused with someone else?

She's probably just shy. Besides, one has to comprehend what's being said, before replying with a "da".

at sc she did much more that just saying 'yes'. fumie actually communicate in russian. as for yuko, she had much more exposure to the language.

I have no idea what she meant here, either.

But she sounds very happy with him and seems to trust him very much.

I thought that was funny, too! :laugh: She said when she saw her finished costume, she didn't think it looked like her; it looked like Nikolai (even saying it was "Nikolai-colored"-smile-). So it's probably not her taste but she has a sense of humor about it!
As far as not being able to talk to him, I got the impression it was probably because he was coaching Miki Ando, but she did not elaborate.
(P.S. Wow, lots of other Japanese speakers here! :D)
