Why was Skate America moved to November?

Hmm, I was guessing that maybe it was something on the French federation's end, given that the GPF this season was rescheduled from Angers to Grenoble. But that was just my idle speculation; there may very well be some kind of deal in place as mentioned above.

The GPF was not scheduled for Angers. Angers was the GP de France. Usually, it should be Orlean at the beggining, but for obscure reason, they change the place and put on Grenoble.

Thank you for the correction, I was misremembering the exact location change. 😅

Irrelevant edit: Can Skate America please come back to Las Vegas this year? 🥺 There aren't any events scheduled at the Orleans Arena during Skate America...

To add on to your post, I wonder when the location will be announced.
I’ve heard Allen and I’ve heard Lake Placid (which is impossible to get to and great if you want an audience composed of people from NY, NJ and PA)

It’s all just rumors and speculation though.

I think it is to accommodate American TV networks, They want to present Skate America, U.S. Nationals and the Olympics as a package without too much of a time lapse between them.
Skate America was held in November in 2017, which was indeed an Olympic season.

It was not held in November during the 2021-22 Olympic season.

Actually, closest city to Lake Placid is Montreal; it's a two-hour drive (plus border delay, of course). So you can add a few people from Montreal to your potential Lake Placid audience.

How nice. Now if they would just broadcast on a channel you don't have to pay double for and at a time when people aren't at work or asleep and I can start following skating again!

Confused why you would say an audience of people from NY NJ and PA. NJ and PA aren't far from Lake Placid, you'd be more likely to get an audience from Canada (if they even want to travel down there) and VT, MA, CT, NH, ME as well as NY.

I have a friend who lives in New Jersey and loves Lake Placid. Anyway it’s impossible for 2/3 of the country to get to. I would actually like to go for the historical aspect, but it’s a 17.5 hour drive and I have to stop more than most.

Lake Placid is a five and a half hour drive from here in East Central PA and pretty much up one highway, until you get there. :)

The same time as driving an hour to Newark Airport, arriving at the airport an hour and a half ahead of time and flying three hours to Vegas. Or two hours to Texas. And it is way prettier than either. In fact, probably less time, because I'm not getting to Newark in an hour unless it's 3 AM Christmas morning.

Of course, I won't be able to go to either, so there's that. ;)
