2024-25 Canadian Figure Skating

I really enjoyed her commentary at Worlds and I thought that she and Chris Howarth were a good combination. Better actually than Kirsten and Ted and ?Canadian nationals (or was it Ontario sectionals?).
They were at Canadian Nationals together. Ontario Sectionals had Cheryl Hockley and Jacob White.

considering the number of waxels she had in the LP at worlds.. maybe that's what is going on... she's working on the 3a and losing a bit of her timing on the 2a ???
If anyone can get one, it’s Maddie—she has always struck me as being utterly determined and focused on her goals.

This could be a game changer for Canadian skating, and I’m here for it!

Sara-Maude is much closer..... and of course Lia Cho... But the race is on !

Thanks for your post.
Such a tragedy.
I am heartbroken.
I was shocked when I heard the news. It is so unusual for Canada. 😭 It is difficult to understand. The festival was meant to be such a happy event. :( I know that these horrific things happen in other places, like the USA, but Canada is normally different. There will be so many people who have been affected by it.

Are all our Vancouver members safe? I hope you and your families and friends are okay...
Large city, sprawled over a large area, and the incident was at a neighbourhood event confined in a small area. At least an hour's drive from where I live, certainly. Our local news described it as "a block party for the tiny Filipino community", but I don't know how accurate that description was. But thanks for your concern! An attack on strangers made the world news because of its rarity in Canada. The attacker was captured by members of the crowd when he attempted to flee on foot, and held for police by them.

I'm glad you're okay. :) The BBC is making it sound like a huge event - they said that 100,000 people had attended it - and is emphasising how large the Filipino population is. It's been the main news item here today.

It wasn't a terrorist attack. It doesn't remove the pain from lost lives but it is indeed an isolated incident. Even in Canada... But at least, he didn't have guns as it could have been worse

I feel for all of you. We've had some incidents like that, and it is heartbreaking. 😢 I'm glad the perpetrator was caught.

I also enjoyed her commentary and I felt that she has significantly improved in this role since Nationals. I bet she would make a good partner for Mark H a n r e t t y.

I hope everyone goes out and votes today!
Already did in advance. We had been notified our elevator was going to be out of commission for several days this week. We were asked to keep our use of the narrow stairs to a minimum as workmen would be manhandling Awkward Stuff up and down there. So a group of neighbours and I voted ahead of time last week, like a tour party.
