LOL

The organizer initially planned to invite the lawmakers to the ice show, but since the interest is so high (read: many people joined the lottery), the organizer decided to give equal treatment to everyone by not inviting lawmakers to the ice show.

I wondered if to respond with an 👏 or an :ROFLMAO: as this is both great news and funny.
I decided to go with 👏 as it obviously means more tickets for fans which is awesome..:rock:

BTW I wonder if the organizers mentioning they are "in negotiations" over the "video distribution" might mean "only" livestream or also DVD planned to be published like for Notte Stellata... that would be even more awesome!!!

Most likely it is live streaming only. The show is similar with Noto's charity show.

I came upon this and just need to share, for those who watched it - to remember, and for those who never watched it - to see.
Yuzu saying to the camera in September 2022: "Please build a rink in Sendai" .
July 2025 - the new rink is being opened , Yuzu is to skate at the opening show. :love2:

But then, there was very quickly this proposal from a Sendai municipal councillor (who took the refusal very badly and said nasty things it seems) with a support from Japan Skating Federation (JSF), of a very expensive new ice rink building with eight thousand seats which was planned to rely only on Yuzuru Hanyu's notoriety to be profitable (with 100 Yuzuru Hanyu shows per year or more maybe? There would be attendance but how could he do this, and be chained as a slave to this white elephant for the decades to come, while the number of shows he's doing is already so exhausting?) while being managed by JSF, giving them leverage on Sendai skating clubs and even on Yuzuru Hanyu's training circumstances, and depriving Ice Rink Sendai (whose crime for JSF is being independent) of the vital income of rink rental by clubs...
I'm so happy that Xebio, sponsor of the Sendai Basketball team, has proposed to make a permanent ice rink that could be covered with a Basketball field, where skating sessions wouldn't be public and would be for very few people, although, seeing the planning, I'm afraid that Yuzuru Hanyu may have to train back at Ice Rink Sendai more often than what I had understood previously.

Posters are up, expectations are high, good wishes and best regards are flying around! The Sendai-residents' lottery entries period is closing in a few days and the general lottery (the rest of Japan plus internationals) is about to open just then. The Xebio Arena will be launched in less than a month :clap::clap:

This. I'm glad that he doesn't add maintaining yet another skating rink as his burden.

Any show with Yuzu, the demand is insane.
Sometimes I am confused as well. There are shows who cannot sell even 1k tickets, then there are Yuzu with his lotteries.

(OTOH, I kinda ‘get’ it. He is in demand and he sustains that demand by giving his best while limiting his appearances. As per his words about over-connecting from today’s article.)

In a few minutes, the registration starts for the eight-hundred-something remaining seats, to this lottery everybody can participate, even if they're not Sendai residents; I suppose that it will be a bloodbath, judging by the number of Sendai residents who participated in the prevous lottery; the 10,000 among them who lost are likely to participate in this one too, plus the residents of other places who wish to be among the first who can applaud Yuzuru Hanyu at his new ice rink:

Yesterday, the results of the lottery among Sendai residents were released; I supposed that it prompted most "losers" to register for the general public lottery:

I love this introduction of the cast:

Oh that's gorgeous!

It must be quite difficult juggling the number of seats to give Sendai people the maximum chance of being there but also people outside who have supported these skater (especually Yuzuru) for so long... I wonder if they expected 10 times the number of applicants as seats, even though it's Yuzu

I don't think they did judging by the fact that they kicked out some VIPs last minute to make more room for lottery participants

The last tests are taking place in the Sendai Xebio Arena. Here they show 11-tonnes trucks sent in to check and make sure it would be possible for such transports to drive straight into the arena and onto the ice covered with an insulated floor (I guess, with the aim of being unloaded there?)
That's quite impressive but I wonder how routine it is to have such facilities at an ice rink, and if it is possible they have been prepared with future ice shows in mind (I recall someone counted that Echoes of Life would be coming into town with sth like 12 trucks , so I can't help but think about the potential connection, and if there is any... )

The general lottery has ended.

19,925 application for 886 seats. 4.4% winning rate. 🫠

So we're going back to the Harvard admission rates to his shows!!!! :):rock:
This makes it clear what it means to have Yuzu performing in a smaller venue (although it is not amongst the smallest, by no means) and why Saitama is indeed needed for ice stories... Still, this will be awesome to have him perform at his home town, both for him and for the (lucky) audience!!!
Just hoping so much for some kind of streaming!!!!
(I really think this level of application rejection may motivate them further to have a stream).

People from outside of Miyagi seem to have been very generous to the ten thousand Sendai residents who had lost at the first lottery, and let them the priority also for the second. I believe that, had there been a Tokyo Dome-like capacity, the numbers would have been much higher, people wouldn't have refrained. Yet this will be a one hour show only, with probably only one program by Yuzuru Hanyu, maybe a participation in a group program and the FInale if there is one?
