2025-26 Grand Prix assignments released

I would like a surprise assignment like Kaiya Ruiter, Uliana Shiryaeva or Gabrielle Daleman in one of the GP
Canada has one TBD host spot for women at Skate Canada. The only way of one of those three getting a GP assignment this year is if they are selected for that host spot. Kaiya and Uliana are too far down the replacement list to have any realistic chance of a non-host spot, and Gabbie didn't compete internationally last season to get into the SB list used for the replacement list. To be selected, they would probably need to achieve, in one of the summer competitions, the minimum score which Canada has set for international selection. I think someone mentioned in one of the Canadian threads that the minimum is 166 for ladies. Uliana was a fair way off last month at the BC competition (144.52) but will have other chances over the Summer. There are likely to be other skaters e.g. Katherine M-S (only has one spot currently), Fee-Ann Landry and Breken Brezden in the mix for the women host spot at Skate Canada and I would expect it to go to whoever is scoring above the threshold most consistently over the Summer.

I don't know what surgery she had. But it's been over a year. Any surgery recovering wouldn't take a year...if you want to come back.
Ask Kaetlyn Osmond that.... or ask me as a matter of fact... It can take months to heal just to be a "normal" person... but then to retrieve your skill set and confidence as an elite athlete (which I am not... but in my field it is similar) it can be much longer.... Also, often, when coming back, as your body is over compensating, it triggers other problems... and thus, longer set backs.

Ah Kaetlyn...my fave Canadian skater. I miss her.

Yeah, she missed the whole 2014/2015 season due to injury, but she was back the next season!

So, injuries that covers multiple years is not common. What happened to Ziegler? Did she break her legs, hip or what? All the info I have is what Wikipedia tells me, "She withdrew from her GP (24/25 season) assignments due to some necessary surgery she needed to do because of an injury she sustained during the previous season." So what does that mean? Anyone knows?

I see that European champion niina petrokina is gonna be at the first grand prix in France. Is she assigned an event prior to the grand prix yet, like Nebelhorn or something?

Can anyone find the Altenate List in the ISU's homepage? It was there last year, but I can't seem to find it for this year.

I want confirmation that the list is updated with scores after Challengers.
Is Sofia Samodelkina 1st now?, has Sonja Hilmer entered the list?
Has Stephen Gogolev moved up to 5th place?...

It doesn't seem to be posted as of now. It should be under related documents on the Grand Prix page, with the general announcement. I think last season it appeared the first week of September, so hopefully we'll get it in the next couple weeks.

Oh, no... I am sad to see Geynish/Chigirev sitting it out. Hope it's just temporary and they can compete in the second half of the season
