Sportan recommends this FNN article on The First Skate, which had been a bit overlooked, with photos of the other Senior guest skaters:

The August issue of S-Style, just released, has an article about The First Skate in page 11, and posted about it:
The First Skate will be visible on Zaiko for a pay, from August 8th to 14th, tickets being for sale from August 2d:

A good news for international fans of the skaters (or supporters of the rink) is that the process to buy the tickets and watch the show seems rather straightforward; and the 3% fee (plus exchange rate depending on the banks) on payments with international cards seem very reasonable, particularly on a 1000¥ ticket price. This poster advises not to forget to test the compatibility and shows how in their tutorial:

Very interesting article by Fuji News Network on the history that led to the opening of the new ice rink in Sendai, the city as the birthplace of Japanese figure skating, its phenomenal sport success around the time of Shizuka Arakawa and the later crisis with ice rinks being closed in the area one after another, the number of skaters cut by half, and a miraculous stubborn young boy who kept practising against all odds, ans was to become the brightest legend of the sport in no time at all
Very good reminder of the history behind it all, well worth reading as we are awaiting the opening of the paid stream for the First Skate show on August 8.
Luckily, I think everything is fine as I guess if there was any damage, we would have heard of it by now. In this case, no news is good news!I hope that the new rink wasn't damaged by the tsunami this morning! I understand that the warning has been uplifted while the advisory is maintained, and that there was moderate damage in Hokkaido, 250km from the epicentre, and little damage in Honshu but we don't really know yet and I wonder if it's high above sea.

Tickets for the First Skate stream went on sale today with the stream itself being available from August 8 till 14.
Please remember you need to set up an account with Zaiko service first and be logged in to it when buying the ticket, and later when watching.
3% extra charge applies on international cards.
More than 200,000 archive streaming tickets were bought within the first 24 hours (and counting of course) !!!!Reports from people who have experienced problems with buying in Japan in the past, are very positive: registration needs a VPN set to Japan but it works even with free VPNs, international bank cards work as announced, and the provider says that the viewing should go well also from abroad.
