Is it safe to skate on temp mount?

Hey!! So I just got new skates and I’m not sure if I can get the blade fully mounted by my lesson and when I go skating tomorrow. Is it safe to skate in Jackson freestyle fusion skates for 1.5 hours? I was previously in mystiques which were really not ideal either. I am working on back scratch and forward sit (more rotations) can do forward scratch easily. For jumps I am working on flip, loop and a bit lutz and I can do waltz salchow and toeloop, I am working on elementary moves in isa (ice skating Australia) singles patterns

You should not be jumping, spinning, or performing other aggressive moves on just a temp mount. Also, just to clarify; How many hours (if any) have you already skated on your temp mount? Have you checked out proper blade mounting?

Thanks!! I haven’t skated yet, just brought them and planning to go over everything get them moulded, permanently mounted etc. tmr, just not positive if my skate tech will be there (there’s only 1 trustworthy one where I live). But thank you for helping me out!

You should take the time to break the boots in gradually (after heat molding), check the blade mount, have the blade mount adjusted if needed, and recheck the blade mount. After everything check's out, have the permanent mount installed ... then restart your lessons. Hopping on to a 1.5 hr lesson on a brand new pair of skates for the first outing would be deleterious both for you and your boots (also a waste of lesson time and fees). Please be patient.

Are the Freestyle Fusions your new skates? B/c If they are there is a bigger issue, which is you did not get a stiff enough skate for your needs. In your other thread you asked for help and you were suggested Synergy Spark or Premier 2850 which are up in the stiffness range of 60/65. You cannot safely skate and do all of your jumps in a 40 rated stiffness boot with your stats.

Thank you for your concern but don’t worry!! I’m just borrowing these (my rink has a system where you can borrow different skates to test before buying them) you’re right I didn’t feel super supported in them and will be testing stiffer and the recommended boots next!!

Please just test the boots that were suggested and are proper stiffness for you. Don't test less stiff or more stiff than that.

Wow! Aren't you the lucky one! Many of us have longed for such a service, but this is the first actual report of one I've come across. Too bad I'm in the US.

Wow! I completely agree. That sounds fantastic.

Having sometimes worked at a rental counter, and paid attention to the horrible ways people treated rental gear, I didn't think it was possible for a business to lend or rent high end skating equipment. Do they do this with blades too?

Unfortunately, Australia is a pretty big trip for those of us in the USA. Otherwise I would love to visit your shop...

If you mentioned the name of that shop, I bet a lot of people in Australia on this forum would flock there.
