2025 Nebelhorn Trophy: General Info and Pregame Chat

Also now I hope entries will drop tomorrow...SC also released their entries one day before the full list was out last year
But entry deadline is friday 20.00. Since some skaters need Visa and flights I bet the entry list is nearly final already though. I'm so curious, too 😊

Oh but Lombardiabis 2 weeks earlier and we got that entry list only last weeks 🤔
Lombardia deadline was the 15th...and we got the entries the Tuesday after. For Challengers it's usual to get the entries the week after the deadline.
Nebelhorn this year is a bit different. The deadline is usually like 4 weeks before the competition. If Nebelhorn had stayed on the originally planned dates, it would have been 4 weeks. Maybe that's why they'll wait until next week to release the lists...like at the same time as those for Nepela, because they take place the same weekend...

Won't lie, Pairs field soothes a bit of my slight feeling of being underwhelmed by Ice Dance lineup...but some teams surely will be at Nepela that weekend.
The problem now is how to plan gifts because SO. MANY. LOVELY. PAIRS.
And will Amber have new FS dress? I'd also love to know Christina's and Anthony's FD costumes...I feel there will be a lot of gambling there

I'm just sad Kimmy isn't there this year. Since she trains in Oberstdorf I was actually expecting her to be on that list.

Are there any traffic disruptions this year? I haven't checked out the DB site yet but will have to do so soon.

Who I'm looking forward to seeing the most, since everyone's sharing already - Tomono, Frangipani, Sadovsky, Britschgi, Vasiljevs, Mikutina, Sauter, Miura/Kihara, Fournier-Beaudry/Cizeron, Fear/Gibson. I'm curious about Gabby Izzo with her new partner and Guarise with his partner since TBH, I wasn't paying much attention to pairs last year, or the year before.

This will be my first no-Sota competition since 2017, wow. It will be so strange for me to attend an event where I cannot cheer for him, but since he's one of the oldest skaters in elite men's singles now, I'd better start getting used to it 🥲
Still, and opportunity to cheer for Kazuki in his last season while returning to this lovely little town, was too tempting to be missed.

Matteo and Lucrezia didn't compete much last season so nothing to pay attention to 😅 but they won Euros 2024! Gabby and Luc were at Challenge Cup and looked promising but they were coming straight from another competition so they also looked VERY tired.

I do hope it got better for the sake of everyone travelling to the event! When I was travelling on DB three months ago, basically every long-distance train was late or cancelled.

Sad but true. But as soon as I saw them on the list for France I knew chances were slim they would do both.
They do need another challenger though. Not sure how important it is for them, but they might drop out of the top 4 in WS by the Olympics, missing the final warm-up group.
