This version of You Raise Me Up suits Seojin very well. She has a sweetness and softness to her skating. As she has grown taller she seems to have gained some strength and power - always a good thing. Also Happy recent Birthday! Mark & Ted are complimenting her strong skating skills.

Not necessarily. Someone can have a Russian or Swedish, or whatever, name without having ever been to the country or having any meaningful connection to it.

First and last though, it's pretty common Russian surname, particularly with -va ending. If she was born abroad, father's name would have been used without an -a, more likely because explaining why it's different to an official issuing birth certificate... lol.

This is a good program for Youn, although the music is dreadful. A few mistakes here and there, including an almost fall in the step sequence.

It has been very nice to see the development of skating in Mexico.
Many of us were hoping to see these girls at JGP and here is one of them.
She has a lovely expression on the ice that fits in nicely even though the jumps are not working in her favor today.

I remember liking Maria at the Cranberry Cup. She has a really soft skating style I enjoy. Good fundamental skills even with limited training time.

I like her dress, it is different from the usual fare. She is getting the jumps done but without a lot of flow except for the bauer into 2A which was terrific.. Not a fan of this song - not sure it helps mental health. She has lovely movement.
