2025 Skate to Milano Pairs Short Program

And unfortunately, with only 3 (or 4) slots available, it will also be difficult for both of my sets of kids. Both probably would have got through if it had been 5 slots like I thought, but alas.
We also need to keep an eye on the Dutch Olympic committee, and what they do with their pair and the required score they need to use the spot they earned.

I'm still trying to make up my mind whether or not there is too much of the white pattern on these otherwise black costumes. I am leaning towards it being just right.

Before this started, I was thinking I may have been a bit over the top in putting them first in my predictons. But now, I'm thinking it might have been a good move.

They were really good!

They go into the lead.

I’ve always enjoyed Artsakh as a piece of music.

Same here. The only problem is that I have a tendency to sing "Words" by the Bee Gees along to it in my head...

Which I still find enraging. Instead of them being proud of their pair that they qualified....

I think that Icelandic athletes have medaled at Summer Olympics (handball for sure, maybe other sports) but never at the Winter Olympics.
I don't know if Icelandic figure skaters have ever qualified for the Games
According to Wikipedia, Iceland has won medals in judo, athletics, and handball...no winter sports!

Shame about the fall on the Salchow, but their twist is so good and their consistency on the pairs elements is really starting to develop. As I said last week, this program is a very poignant choice and I think they're super promising :)
(Also, these slow-mos are gorgeous - That death spiral one? Stunning)

I'm in mixed minds about this version of "Imagine". But I liked the skating.

I didn't notice before because of the resurfacing and Group 2 Warm-Up being in between. But Manuel Piazza and his former partner, Anna Valesi, are going back-to-back.

Manuel and his current partner go into 2nd position.

Not their best performance, but they have a lot of potential. I like their style and they are well matched
Au contraire, this is fairly evenly matched with their best performance so far (the fall just swapped elements), which isn't unexpected for such a new team, but it's very clear that they will be able to do this better in another few months time.

Also, Iceland hasn't had a figure skater qualify for the Olympics. Again according to Wikipedia, Iceland has only qualified Winter Olympic athletes in cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, and ski jumping.
