Danny G. choreo and costuming ideas, he didn't look too far for the music either: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeMFswRlAYo
Two kids have one in 4 years opportunity to come out show their best, and they get a second-hand junior skater's program reminiscent of a kid kerchief dance and a Maria de Buenos Aires. I am sure there are reasons for it: people are busy, time off-ice, etc.
Having said this, Peter skated well and is technically and artistically the strongest and the most refined skater in the banned federation right now, he's really come a long way.

I am catching up to the men's short, and looks like Gartung wasn't the only one impacted by the unique circumstances of this competition. But missing a spin is so random I hope he can make up for it in the free.

Pitot and Carrillo had great skates. 👍

Unfortunately the FS starts at like midnight here, so if I wake up, it would be during medal ceremony lol

I loved Anna's "Perfume"-program back in the day and I thought it fits Petr wonderfully here.

Onegin is a FP, not SP.
Then I am no end of confused, because i thought the audience didn't like this one due to the character portrayed. Not that an aging aristocratic loser who shot his best friend is a particularly positive role model... just what he is replacing then?

He is replacing a new free program from Averbukh (which can be found on Youtube and which is not very engaging) by last year's free program to Onegin movie soundtrack. Aging aristocratic loser who shot his best friend is one of the most significant events in Russian 19th century literature and an encyclopedia of Russian life from circa 1820-1825. The movie was released in 2024 and its soundtrack made it to figure skating, a common thing. Two seasons ago Peter skated the free to Dorian Gray soundtrack. I haven't seen either movie. The composer for Onegin is some Georgiy Zheryakov. It's hard for me to argue his case, because I don't know his music, and this soundtrack did not exactly stun me. He is a pianist, graduated from St.Pet. conservatory, studied composition optionally, writes this and that - a bit of symphonic music, some computer game and movie music, seems pretty active as a composer, not so much as a pianist.

I know Onegin is a big deal, the writer is great, the character is a first-rate jerk and a useless louse, only topped in being a useless jerk immortalized in Russian classics by Lermontov's Pechorin. I mean, we can blame Byron for it, i suppose. He opened that can of worms.

I kinda liked Gartung, and I am glad Donovan got the quad and had a good skate.

Pechorin is a total jerk, yes, and the writing is not great.

Yeah, I like him too and the lutz, along witn all the fun twists and turns of this season for him, but that spin really messed stuff up. So long as the German Fed doesn't hold it against him if he doesn't qualify a spot, he should be fine pursuing good JWC placement.
