How are we all doing? Did I miss anything epic?

You know, I haven't even seen any of the ladies from this event yet (women's is the discipline I tend to follow the least ), although I know the results. Which performances would you recommend watching?

Group 1 was a mixed bag
Group 2 for some lovely newcomers who skated quite well
Group 3 Nargiz, Julija & Petra
Group 4 had some heartbreaks for favorites, Viktoria was a technical wonder
Group 5 the whole group

Not really - collision in group 1 on warm-up. Both teams skated well enough after

Was seeing the other event but late because time difference extreme and too because was celebrating Independence day and army glory day too. About ladies can suggest see Loena Hendricks FS and SP

In other news there's the other big championships going on now, the World Jigsaw Competition. It's pretty amazing, the fastest people can do a 500 piece never before seen jigsaw in under 50 minutes!

Nothing too epic, but a lot of skating that was pleasant to watch.

I think I'd recommend the Dutch team for their Gothic concept and the Italian team for executing the "Gladiator" soundtrack well.

Off topic: I'm a bit confused as to how the Olympic spots are assigned. Like in pairs the Kovalev's didn't finish in the top 3 so don't get to go, but a Japanese team finished ahead of them - don't they have 3 spots already? Why would they finishing ahead push Cami and Pavel out?

Off topic: I'm a bit confused as to how the Olympic spots are assigned. Like in pairs the Kovalev's didn't finish in the top 3 so don't get to go, but a Japanese team finished ahead of them - don't they have 3 spots already? Why would they finishing ahead push Cami and Pavel out?

The Japanese team had to compete to earn the second spot since they didn't qualify for the free at Worlds, they didn't have the second spot at the Olympics until they finished in the top 3.

I found it interesting that they portrayed racing without having literal racing outfits and did so effectively...

Appreciate the different concept from the Ukrainian team - love their red costumes as well. I feel that they need more speed to pull this Ferrari program off though

The Japanese have 3 pairs spots for Worlds, but not for Olympics. Olympic spots awarded at Worlds are capped at number of their pairs (teams, skaters) that made the free skate. If Oly spots is less than Worlds spots, they can try here for another Oly spot.

Actually, I think JPN probably has 2 pairs spots for Worlds. But that doesn't matter to principal that if World Sports > Oly spots, then can try for one here. This is only second time Olympic spots awarded at Worlds have been capped that way. It gives smaller feds a better chance to get Olympic spots, and to get them earlier (at Worlds)

Interesting interpretation, isn't common their way to interpretate without fall in a common or popular idea, red doing a gesture their costumes in red or similar to Rosso Monza ( the red that Ferrari uses it) and their choreography speed and rhythm , some drama too but very balanced FD. I like it
