2025 CS Nebelhorn Trophy Free Dance

Lilah FEAR / Lewis GIBSON in sparkling nets (oh no sorry it should be a kilt)

Stli4 + Roli 4
Sytw2/2 (they're doing scottish dance)
MiSt 3/2
CuLi4
OfT2/2 (they're twizzling a lot)
Dance spin 4
Choreo Char step sq 1 (scottish dance again fast and so fun)
Choreo slide move

you know what? they finally went for something different and it works! it works so well! i enjoyed every single moment, you can't get distracted they keep moving, you blink you miss a detail. great dance
I approve as well. I'm so glad they found a way to branch out stylistically. They will improve their footwork quickness as well.

OK, I've just seen the F/G free dance. I absolutely LOATHE it. Everything about it. The idea of the program - traditional Scottish music - has a lot of merit, and it could have been great if they approached it seriously. But this is just more of their tired old "take me to the club" with bagpipes in the background. It's terrible.

The Scots should rise up in rebellion and overthrow King Charles in retaliation.

This worked really well today - I saw its first outing three weeks ago, and it had potential but still a few bobbles - it was much more coherent today - loads of great details - really enjoyable - looking forward to seeing it develop through the season.

The F/G program is really clever. They found a way to make it their own while using the Scottish angle to separate it from their previous efforts. I think that's a great compromise between doing something new and staying true to your point of view. Lewis is Scottish so I'll trust that this was faithful to his culture.

I just watched Christina and Anthony's FD, and they need to fix the music edit in the Danse Mon Esmeralda section. The edit is a little clunky, and the end of the program will sell better when they get that part right.

I'm slightly more positive than neutral about it so far.... maybe a 6.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. But I think it's a program that will grow on me as it improves with mileage. The music needs to be smoothed out for sure, but at least I can see possibilities.

I see the vision with it, too.

I own the album, and I've listened to it many, many, times, so when I know the source material well, clunky edits annoy me.

There have been a couple of other musical theater programs this season that have had clunky edits that annoy me, too.

I liked F&G other than Lewis's costume, (and I would have liked more of 500 Miles and less of "Loch Lomond," but in that first stationary lift, his hands are over his head with arms fully extended. When did that become legal in dance???

"The ISU has specific rules about holds and positions, such as prohibiting holds with fully extended arms higher than the lifting partner's head. "

Just stopping to say Fear/Gibson have my favorite free dance so far (I know we haven't seen all of them). I love the team so much and have sent their fd video to everyone in my life lol.

I would assume it is because his elbows were not locked. That was the explanation I heard for Hubbell & Donohue's "flying" lift.

That fall in the first group was probably the scariest ice dance fall I've ever seen. But I have good news, Louise isn't badly injured, but of course her back hurts. I posted something on my instagram story after their skate and she replied.
A team I really enjoyed was Dupayage/Nabais. Although I prefer the costumes they wore at Lombardia :laugh4:

From the Scorebox: StatLi4 / RoLi4, BV 10.90, GOE 3.84

I imagine they won’t change it unless they absolutely must
Stay safe

Good, I am glad I am not the only one who loves them. A seriously underrated team, who, in my opinion, should have been given third place here (with Lauriault/Le Gac second after Fear/Gibson).

They have incredible speed while still staying in control, have great music choices, and the choreography, wow! They really skate TO the music.

Unfortunately they have little chance of making the French team for the major events because there are too many French teams ranked higher, but for my money, they are second in line after Lopareva/Brissaud.

As for Carreira/Ponomarenko, their FD was unoriginal and the dullest thing on earth. Can't understand why they always get marked so high.
