2025 Grand Prix de France Men's Short Program

I looked up what Adam's program is about, well, I am not sure what the connection to this music is and I am sorry, I didn't understand the story, but the costume is kinda necessary. It's the only thing that really connects this program with Leonardo da Vinci. I mean, he still needs a circle though...
for Michelangelo he didn't dress up as David, to my disappointment, but got a generic shirt from Temu with Adam and God's hands on it (1,50 € on Temu, 15€ in every shop in Florence)

Kao is a strong and fierce skater, but he could have been skating to anything.

Please go see Carolina Kostner:pray:
Kao did this short program with a lot more style at Skate America last year, I would highly recommend watching it (and I seriously hope he gets back to that level of comfort with his program). 🙂
What are you questioning, Kao?!
Your 3A was a mess and you barely rotated and hung on to the 4T!
Be happy...geezus!
Maybe he's wondering how he got such a good score? 😅 I think he's lucky to have gotten such a good score as well...

I feel that you are very generous.
To me the imrprovement is more like a C+ going to a B-
Hmm, yes I was, it must be that I recently had a conversation with a Korean Malinin fan and he was very much impressed by how his programs last season "showed his performative side much better", and when I responed with my honest opinion that a well-placed backflip does not a good artist make the mood became extremely awkward, and that made me more cautious when discussing artistry

today I realized I had somethimg similar (only without hands) when I was pregnant because the pattern somehow made me look smaller then I was

oh well.. speak thy mind, friend. Ilia has a lot of qualities on the ice and I have no issues at all with him being a world champion. I stood up for his performance in Montreal in 2024.
But, he is no Patrick Chan and will never be.

My issue is not that he isn't really. It's that some commentators or fans see things that are not there. Ilia doesn't need to become a great artist. We don't need to pretend that he is. He has all the tools he needs to win what he wants to win, except my heart as a fan. And that's fine. He has plenty of fans and he doesn't need me. But to say that he has improved tons in that department is just unfair to the skaters who really have honed that part of skating.

Just my opinion.

Exactly my thoughts. He wins with his tech nad this is ok, he hes highest tech content, don't make him an artist he just isn't. It's doing him disservice and is unfair to skaters who actually are artists.

When I'm asked about my stance on Ilia Malinin I'm just going to quote this whole (plus add some more examples other than Chiddy), and I will post a wall of text with a related rant on the new lounge thread thing

And with that I am going to bow out to let everyone who wants to be squinty and snippy about Malinin to do what they want.

Good thing Chris was here. Why some don't like him, I'm not quite sure. And still enjoying that music from Pitot's program. I've replayed it twice.

Malinin is easily winning everything in sight because of his insane consistency and difficulty. Who knows how his story will play out at the Olympics, as it’s a completely different level of pressure that many of these athletes have never faced before. History has showed us that it’s not necessarily a good thing to be the favorite in the men’s discipline at the Olympics. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out, who goes for broke, and who plays it smart. The best strategist and who best handles the pressure and his health will prevail.
