2025 Skate Canada International is the third event of the 2025-26 ISU Grand Prix series and is scheduled to take place October 31 – November 2, 2025, in Saskatoon, SK, Canada. The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series consists of six international senior invitational events and culminates with the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in December.

Competitors collect points in their individual Grand Prix events towards the qualification for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. Only the top six skaters/teams in each discipline can qualify for the Final.

Skaters are seeded and invited to the six Grand Prix of Figure Skating events based on the results obtained at the 2025 ISU World Figure Skating Championships. Skaters/teams who have placed first through sixth in each of the four categories are seeded and assigned to two events. Skaters/teams who have placed seventh through 12th at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships are selected for two ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating events. Skaters with a top 24 Season Best Scores (from the 2024-25 season), as well as those placed in the top 24 of the ISU World Standings, can also be invited.

In order for a skater/team to be eligible to compete at an ISU Grand Prix event, a minimum total score must have been achieved in the 2024-25 or current 2025-26 season in an ISU event (Grand Prix, Junior Grand Prix, Championships) or a Challenger Series event. Exceptions apply to host country skaters, previously ranked skaters or split ranked couples who return with new partners.

According to the USFS international assignments page, Lucas Broussard has withdrawn :(
(He's still listed for GP Finland, though)
Does that automatically mean that Tomoki would get the spot as first on the replacement list or is there some flexibility ?
Samoilov and Selevko are already there... I would find it hilarious if they had flexibility and invited Corey.

It's supposed to go to the first eligible alternate on the list. In this case, that would be Tomoki Hiwatashi.

The ISU has changed the rules (probably because host feds were deliberately picking lower-ranked skaters to not endanger their own skaters) and they now have to invite the highest eligible skater on the replacement list, so that should be Tomoki.

More flexibility seems to be possible if the withdrawal happens close to the start of the event, federations are also no longer required to replace a withdrawal at some point.

Nice hotel, used to be a cp hotel which included the Banff Springs, Chateau Frontenac, Empress Hotel, etc.
I just looked up the hotel on Google Maps. It showed that using public transportation to get from the Sask Tel Centre to the hotel at this time (7:30 pm Pacific Daylight time—I assume maybe 2 hours later in Saskatoon?) would take over 9 hours. Interesting:eek2:

Anastasia Golubeva / Hektor Giotopoulos Moore (AUS, pairs) have also withdrawn from their second GP assignment 😭

Sending them all of my positive energy to get back on competitive ice in time for the Olympics ❤️

This spot should go to the Poles if I am remembering correctly.
Nooooooo 😭 I mean yay for Chtchetinina/Wozniak, but....

I wonder if Canada will get a replacement for her. She's still listed on the ISU site so maybe they're waiting to update until a replacement is selected. If so, who's next on the list?
She has been crossed out on the table on the ISU site: https://isu-d8g8b4b7ece7aphs.a03.az...cuments/GP-Women-25-10-16-1760627573-1261.pdf Next on the list is Seoyoung Kim (assuming Sofia Samodelkina declined a second spot, which appears to be the case because she was above Anna Pezzetta).
