2026 Pacific Coast Sectional Singles and U.S. Ice Dance Final

Isn’t it unusual for them to switch clubs? I don’t mean physically but for instance Amber still represents Dallas FSC even though she hasn’t trained there in many years.

Not really so unusual.
Jimmy Ma switched to representing Skating Club of Boston, after previously representing Skating Club of New York.
Gracie Gold switched to representing IceWorks Skating Club, after previously representing Wagon Wheel Figure Skating Club.
Kaitlin Hawayek switched to representing Detroit Skating Club, after previously representing Skating Club of Western New York.
This season Kai Kovar switched to representing Broadmoor Skating Club, after previously representing Wasatch Figure Skating Club.
Etc., etc.

I mean I only watch US Sectionals. I agree it would be impossible to watch every sectionals of every country and have a life…
We all have our preferences and that is fine. And only a fixed amount of time. Me? I watched the Japanese Western Sectionals tonight, Jr and Sr women and Rika Kihira do a great job at ice dance. I love Mai Mihara and Saki Miyake (perfect 3A 209.41) and Mako Yamashita. Ikura Kushida won the Jr. Women's event with a 189.26 AND won the Sr Ice dance. But I traveled many miles to watch US comps...even to Arizona...and I wish all the competitors at this event best of luck making it to nats!

Senior dance will be fun to watch. I loved the Peals the last few years in juniors so always good to see them. Good luck to them in seniors!

Not at all unusual. Some stay with their first club forever, even after moving. Some just switch clubs whenever they move to a new training spot. If you're switching sections, it can cut down on travel distance for Sectionals. There's a rule in NQS though that you can't switch clubs mid-season, so you'll remain listed with the club you registered with at the beginning of a season.

Hi folks!
Just watched the first flight.
Group 1
Tough fall for Stapert / Korotcov, good fun skate for Kouevi/ Homawoo, liked Annie & Simon too. Jane & Mark were easily tops with their ode to Hubbell & Donohue RD. Love to see these fresh faces - gives me hope.

Group 2
Aneta has lovely lines and Will is elegant. A sweet choice of music that suited them a lot.
The Fischers came out aggressively and got a bit off in their twizzles. He had a fall near the end of the program in a step sequence. Great musicality to the funky music Ali & Saul use in their RD.
Showy skate with a killer rotational lift for Sophia & Miles to Cosmic Girl & Canned Heat.
Nicole & Kejin are new to me and got the crowd clapping to their musical medley as they got jiggy, then did some Shania and ended with the Macarena.

I saw so many of these teams on the JGP. It is interesting to see them all together to compare and contrast. They each have something different and special about them. No idea who will win as mistakes are real.

Group 3
Really hard fall for both Michelle & Ryan on a rotational lift. Ryan may have hit his head. Both are going to hurt. They were skating solidly and then got unbalanced and fell. That fall is going to kill their score.
Clean skate for the Fugates to Cotton Eyed Joe that really got the crowd going. It was confident and fast but lands in the middle so far.
Effie Chen is a budding Madi Chock while Gordei has a Charlie White head of hair as they skate with great speed, expression and confidence to pretty fly for a white guy. They end in first.
Lillian & Wolfe skate to Spice Girls music - she in pastel pink and he in black. They seem very new. She struggles a bit in the pattern dance. They seemed happy with their skate.
Marian & Denis skate last to Ice, Ice Baby and Jump. They are each very strong skaters - fast and intricate footwork.

I thought when Pham/Rogers split she was going to continue on and he was going to retire. Guess not.
