Donohue was dating his future wife Chantelle Kerry by the time of the Beijing Olympics. It's not him. I've read the man Smart was dating at that time had nothing to do with skating.

(Also- in the video i think she implies she was still in the relationship when she was skating with Tim Dieck. Donohue and Kerry were either engaged or married by this point).

I found this quite by accident while surfing YouTube. I've always loved Jean-Luc. So happy he's in a loving relationship.

I saw Jean-Luc at the Helsinki Grand Prix and wondered why he was there—as a commentator, a member of one of the teams? Now I know He looked great, radiant. I'm so happy for him, he's been one of my favorites.

No one has ever officially said anything (as far as I know). Her last statement was something like they were evaluating whether to continue but it seems they are definitely not since JL is always saying things like “when Kaitlyn and I used to skate.” It could have been one or the other or both who made the decision. Selfishly i wish they had made an official announcement but of course they do not owe us anything.
It’s hit me very hard. I should not allow myself to become so attached.
