Okay Ilia I am buying into the costume now that I see it all. Like the teal belt. A bit rocky on the opening combo and the second triple axel okay. Some jumps looked a bit under.. The package is getting better.

He took a risk but today didn't pay off. Quality of jumps was off. What he does is impressive but for me is too many tricks for a program that is below 3 minutes: 4 axel, backflip, cartwheel and some other acrobatics, rap dancing, it's like pizza with potatoes and nutella - not my thing.

94.05 and into 3rd, only .05 above Grassl. I’m surprised the panel did that, but it’s not wrong. Every jumping pass didn’t have his usual easy quality.

Ilia did well. It’s been a few years since he’s made a mistake in a SP and it was on a 4A and it wasn’t a fall so it’s all good. The 4Lz+3T was a little squirrelly too. He should be below Sato, which would mean Kagiyama would have a huge lead going into the free.

Not working yet, but it is a good competition for him to figure out if he should try it or leave it be. Glad Grassl skated well,and that Kagiyama fans got their solid clean skate joy.

I really don't think he is in any danger of losing this event unless he skates similarly. Sometimes risks work and sometimes they don't.
