That was definitely a more interesting program than Laurence and Guillaume's for me, but they do not have the same skating skills, especially Madison. Conversely, she's an amazing performer, whereas I can't buy Evan being fierce. He just looks awkward. 
I do like the top of her costume, but I find the leggings partway over the boots to be very distracting/unflattering.

Reminder of the first line of the song:
"I see a red door and I want to paint it black"
So, I feel the programme has lost a lot of meaning by getting rid of the red lining to the skirt part of Madison's dress.
Still think the whole programme, and in particular this version of "Paint It, Black", is so strange.
Frankly, I don't like either their programme or Laurence & Guillaume's programme. So, I don't care what happens here.
Piper & Paul should have been the winners.

I'm sorry but this program is a NO for me. Choreo character steps make me laught (not in the good way). I get what effect they aim for but it's not working, it's a bit grotesque. Evan will forever be wooden boy for me. Other than the lifts I don't get those high GOEs.

I am sad about Piper and Paul though, that was really unfair
Ted mentioned enjoying the dances for what they are, which I did! But it does kind of sour things when a team doesn't get the proper recognition. Not to mention the affect it must have on Piper and Paul!

Chock/ Bates do always improve though the season. It's their secret to success. They take feedback and improve competition to competition. From a dance perspective that was a lot better. Better performers, too. Obviously, not the best SS. But, Maddie knows how to get her levels.

I too would like a splash of red on the dress, but I understand why they had to lighten the skirt. Perhaps some other embellishments - epaulets??

Piper's posture, and lack of extension have held back the scores. Particularly in this era of ice dance that values big highlight moves that take advantage of the female skater's flexibility, posture, and extension - something Chock/Bates excel at - it's difficult for the judges to award the highest GOE.

And they did! How did you know? (I'm serious, I can't understanding scoring at all! Too many numbers, man.)
Haha the video of the skaters behind them, I feel like I'd be so distracted by that.

that's a fair comment.... but does Lilah have such flexibility, posture and extension ?
